Forcing companion outfits to be the same across your account stinks.

So, I want to preface this with 3 things

1) I usually pair off one of my characters and a specific companion for thematic reasons. So my druid-type main uses Sharp-as-Night and I've given him a very tribal Argonian look. They feel like a good matched pair. So it's taken a fair few alts to have a repeat of the same choice of companion, which is why I never noticed this previously. After googling I'm aware this has been how it's always been, it's just never come up before. I am still massively bummed about it.

2) I am not saying they should make it impossible to keep one outfit across account if you prefer. I know some people will like that functionality and I get it, if you're more in it for the 'game' side of things than the 'fluff' side of things like I am, it might be handier that way. I'm all for having this be an option, I just want per-character outfits to also be an option.

3) No costumes don't cut it. Part of why I enjoy MMOs over other games is the ability to spend time putting together outfits from disparate pieces - just throwing on a onesie is kinda missing a lot of the fun. (It's also fairly irritating given how much time and money - both real and in-game, I've invested in having nice outfit components to build outfits with.)

It's bad enough we can't give them helmets but this is... very frustrating. If I want to use Isobel on two different characters - two different characters who have to meet her separately, who effectively exist in different parallel timelines, why does she have to wear the same outfit while with both of them?

I don't get why it's this way and it's really annoying that it is.

I agree. I've spent more gold changing my companions' outfits than I have my own, simply because of this issue. Companions in general have a strange mix of per character and per account systems. Costumes are per character; so should outfits be.
