My Companions Wish List :)

Hi all! I feel like this system is still pretty heavily undercooked. Some cool characters for sure, but as a system, I'd like to see a lot more out of it to give it depth and wanted to list out some things that I think would be pretty cool. Just to add, just because the developers said something is not on their mind currently, or isn't likely, doesn't mean it won't happen. See alliance change tokens, subclassing (ultimately their fix for the requests for class change tokens), and their background work on getting crossplay to happen.

1) Option to change adornment, hair style, skin, personality (stance), etc. Anything that the player has unlocked for their character should be able to be used on a companion.

2) Helmets added into outfit styling. There is no individualization of a companion when there are 6 other Embers running around. They maintain their identity regardless. If I wear a hat, am I suddenly a different person? Of course not, that's silly.

3) Let us use player gear on companions. If there is a stat line like critical chance that doesn't really work with companions, make it null. That's fine. I just think it'd be so interesting and cool to be able to use this. The thing is, most people play this game solo. ZOS when they announced companions said that they didn't want companions to be stronger than players. They still wouldn't and any group that is going into a vet dungeon or vet trial is still going to want a competent player than can communicate and do mechanics over an NPC with a 5 piece set bonus. But then the people that largely play solo will have a buddy that feels fun to customize and build with. Or people that play in duos can complete their "4 person group" with a couple of NPCs that they've set up situationally.

4) If #3 is just off the table no matter what, allow us to upgrade, research and transmute companion gear. Create a special companion table for this, make research a companion-by-companion basis and even when we interact with it, make it look like the companion is doing it rather than our player characters like you'd see at a normal player crafting table. This would be great just to add some depth to a currently VERY dull companion gear system.

5) I'd like to see them consistently add more companion quests each year. Instead of giving us 2 new companions, maybe give use one but then add stories to each of the other ones.

6) I think their little perk system is great and even the rapport (minus the negative rapport for harvesting torchbugs and stuff like that - come on ZOS xD). But, I view myself and the companions all as a big team. It'd be cool to be able to give tasks to companions to help the team out. For instance, we do chores as players (eg, daily writs, research, mount training). It'd be cool if we could assign something to lesser-used companions. Like if I could say to Bastion who I never use, please do one of my woodworking surveys per day or something. That way we're all working towards bettering "the team" (I.e. our accounts).

7) Again, if we're again not going to do #3, give them their own inventory and allow them to carry all companion gear and that's it, nothing else. But, i'd prefer #3 over everything/

8) Finally, allow us to use multiple companions in certain instances. As part of a story mode for dungeons, how cool would it be if at the beginning, you select 3 of your companions, and they're each given a role that you designate (eg, tank, healer, dps) and then they have a path that has been created by ZOS where they path through the dungeon, make comments on the story, etc. There could be a prompt that allows YOU to lead so it's slow and at your pace, or they pull at their pre-determined pace by ZOS.

It's such a cool system with so much potential and I just feel like the absolute bare minimum is being done. It's just a copy paste every year. 2 companions. They each have a few quests, we grind them to level 20, do their rapport and get their little item/perk. Then it's done. Let's give some depth to this! Use our imagination here guys, this is a cool system. Let's not let the dust settle.
