Valaste, got to be a vast improvement on Tanlorin. At least you wouldn't be punished for doing Mages Guild and Psijic things, plus reading lorebooks. I like Little Leaf, guess she could come bask as a spirit companion and curse your enemies.

My choice would still probably be Zerith Var! But if it had to be someone who's not a companion... I'd say Divayth Fyr or Abnur Tharn. Those old stuck up powerhouses of a mage have some of the most fun interactions in ESO in my opinion. I'd love to go adventuring with them and hear more of their mirthless banter on the "dire" situations in quests.

Virgod because the Companions have always been a favorite faction. I really appreciate how ESO doesn’t just use the drunken buffoon nord stereotype on them.

Arana because the reach and Reachmen lore is always so fascinating. Her character in particular has some unique skills/skill aesthetics that would be fun to interact with as a companion.

I've actually been keeping an eye out for that, and haven't seen her name pop up yet. I have seen an Argonian name I don't remember, though.

Jansen Nashrith from Senchal.

I'm tired of characters who can't admit their mistakes. Once you help him, he says:

I haven't always been kind to others. To myself. Crafting the remedy makes me feel worthwhile. Like I might be able to one day forgive myself for past mistakes. You see? In the end, I'm as selfish as anyone.

Usually we get characters who either have a troubled past (dead parents, abuse etc.) or who blame everybody else for their mistakes and the path they have chosen (though there are some exeptions). It would be nice to have a companion with some accountability, capable of admitting: "Yes, I've made mistakes, hurt others. But I'm here now, trying to redeem my past.".

I don't think any of the companions are like that why should they need to redeem their past?

Velsa from the Thieves Guild because she's got actual bite. Or Jakarn, after he's gone to a detox clinic to flush out whatever they gave him in High Isle. Maiq would also be fun although I generally feel quite worried for his mental state.

Edit: come to think of it this would absolutely ruin Jakarn because the whole point of his character, houseguest notwithstanding, is that he's a free agent doing his own thing (which is precisely what High Isle got wrong). So NOT Jakarn!

I think that the two mage characters from Corelanya Manor would make great companions. They were fleshed out, curious, and passionate people with reason to explore the world.

I think the Jurisreeve from the Russafeld questline would also be great, but she would need at least a small reason to leave Summerset for a time.

Also, there's a maormer in Solstice who I think has the same voice actor as Zaeed from Mass Effect who would be great. Many of the maormer in Solstice have dialogue about how they got there or what they're doing there (from the Carapace Cavern NPC to minor NPCs around Sunport), and I think it could be expanded on.
