Backing up Character Designs in other TES games

I know some of you have spent a fair amount of time designing not just the build, but the look of your characters. And ESO has some pretty good options for sliders.

Now my main in ESO is already a recreation of my character from Skyrim, who in turn is a recreation of my character from Oblivion ect. So a while back I got the idea to recreate my alts from ESO over in Skyrim. Because while ESO has been around for a decade, it's still an online service. However, I got as far as High Elves and stopped because I didn't like the look. (This might have been before the HD pack.)

So with the release of Oblivion Remastered I've been thinking of trying this again. I got to re-experience the character creation experience in the new release on my brother's copy, making a look-alike of a character from another fantasy series. It has a lot of options, but it was on a Steam Deck so I couldn't see how much impact each slider had.

Has anyone else tried on a bigger screen recreating your ESO characters, how was it?

So I picked up the game on Steam with a small discount from the sale. After a few hours of playing around and rediscovering my love for this game, can I recreate an ESO character in Oblivion Remastered? Kinda.

First, what options are missing? You have no body adjustments other than the base male/female type and your complexion. There are no adornments or body markings, you can do blind eyes. There are a decent number of hair styles, but it's not one to one with ESO, even though there are some matches. (I suspect ESO pulled styles from multiple TES games.) You can adjust the hair length, but it's really only by a couple inches.

So basically it comes down to your skill with the face sliders. Depending on your skill, you may find it easier to recreate that rugged fighter rather than that pretty mage. I don't know how long ESO will continue on for, but you should grab screen shots while you can.

One more bit of advice, the lighting at the start is a harsh orange torch light. I recommend saving just before you leave the sewers, you get more chance to edit with different lighting. You can even drop a second save before leaving in case you're still not happy once you're out in the world. The game will also group your saves by character, which is nice.
