Double xp timing

Having the double xp event end less than 24 hours into a content drop that requires monstrous amounts of xp farming seems like a pretty big middle finger to anyone without the ability to have just sat down for 8 hours straight yesterday after the patch released. Is there any reason why this wasn't extended to give people an actual chance to use it for the biggest xp grind in the history of the game?

It's a middle finger to those, who had all classes leveled over the years, who are forced for the grind again to level everything a 2nd time already.

To have the XP event only for 24 hours active is probably intended, so everyone is kept busy. So they can say the new content includes 100+ playtime

I'm actually grateful that we had a whole 24 hours of 2XP after the patch dropped and we got a bit of heads up about the 2XP event.

Gave me a chance to sort myself out in terms of MWs to level up subclassing lines.

There was a time when we would know about events (of any kind) happening pretty much as they started

Furthermore I don't remember ever having 2XP active at the time of releasing a Q2 content patch.

It was a bit of a struggle but I did manage to level up every single subclass skill line on 3 accounts.

Yeah, wasn't thrilled about that; I have levelled up every single skill line, skill and morph - sans WW because they turned it into a meme and antiquities because damn did they turn the grind up to 11 on that one or what, I'd say I'm at 50% on those - 32 times.

Then I saw in the PTS that something was getting unlocked as I logged in the characters and thought to myself... maybe? maybe they have changed their minds?

I was going to at least burn through a few Master Writs on my main to make use of it but then the game kicked me out to the login screen while I was trying to consolidate them. 😐 Decided it wasn’t worth fighting with at that point and loaded up another game.

I'm not a fan of the double XP ending just a day after the patch, especially considering how rough it often is to try to play right after a patch (I know I crashed a couple of times yesterday, I'm sure a lot of people did). Having said that, burning through a few hundred master writs I was able to fully level every subclass skill line and level at least 1 morph of every skill before the double XP ran out.

First world problems. We third world console players wouldn't know what it's like.

They should bring it back and give console players the event too so they feel included.

If anyone got to benefit from it, that's lucky. If they didn't, I don't think it's an insult to them, just two timings that overlapped.
