You have to pay every time you swap a Subclass line?

Why in the world is there a charge for changing subclasses around?

Its the same as changing skills/morphs currently. Use a scroll or pay the fee.
They've halved the cost, which is a good thing and let's you mess around with subclassing.

    A complete non issue IMO.

Just completely backwards progression from current standards. The old way of thinking was to penalize and encourage people to lock into builds. Current standard is being able to swap around and try a bunch of new things without penalty. This is even advertised in that way, so for the life of me I cant see why they would want to put up any form of irritation to that process.

If the skill line is maxxed out it shouldnt cost to swap...especially if you cleared everything out using the armory. Or at the very least the armory should allow for saving without any skill lines selected.

Why do either of those things cost gold at all? Isn’t it just an arbitrary sink of rss? Is the game negatively impacted if we remove gold cost from respec and wayshrines?

Why are people complaining about a 1500 gold fee, which is cheap compared to the 9000+ fee to swap skills? Unless there is a hidden fee I don't know about. ZOS sees players sitting on millions of gold, I personally have close to 3M in the bank and make more each day by selling stuff and from quest rewards, etc. People complained for the longest time for something to spend their gold on, and now people are complaining they don't want to spend any gold. ZOS just cannot win.

So because the cost is not prohibitive to you, it must not be prohibitive to anyone?

I don't like paying ever ytime I swap a skill line either, especially since I want to try out quite a few different things but honestly the game needs true gold sinks.

You can save various subclass setups at the armoury station and then swap between them for free if you want to simply test something.

They encourage you to buy armoury slots (single character bound) and assistant, that's not really about freedoms to your gameplay, but freedom to spend in their system.

You cant test with that method. Its encouraged at that point you already know exactly what you want to do.

So what does this help create? People looking up before making a decision on subclasses so the "dont mess up"...thus going online to find a build...thus the majority of people all being the same cookie cutter setup...which is what people are already complaining about.

Just another little form of encouragement in a direction people have been complaining about for a long time now.

The fee for swapping skills is 50 gold per skill point invested (not acquired, just invested). It's only 9k+ if you have 180 skill points or more invested at the time you pay to respec. That's a pretty established character, meaning the account very likely has the gold to afford it. It is not likely for newer players who are likely experimenting with builds.

The fixed cost for subclassing respec means it will feel cheap to established accounts and expensive to new ones rather than having a scale that attempts to correspond to progression like respeccing has before.
