I am currently running a one bar magicka dk build:

Gear
Pillar of Nirn Inferno Staff, Precise
Light Slimecraw Guise, Divines
Medium Pillar of Nirn Jack, Divines
Light Epaulets of the Depths, Divines
Light Sash of the Depths, Divines
Light Gloves of the Depths, Divines
Light Breeches of the Depths, Divines
Light Shoes of the Depths, Divines
Pillar of Nirn Necklace, Bloodthirsty
Oakensoul Ring, Infused
Pillar of Nirn Ring, Bloodthirsty

Skills
Eruption
Coagulating Blood
Engulfing Flames
Molten Whip
Flames of Oblivion
Standard of Might

I play on Xbox so have until the 18th June for the release of update 46, but with the new subclassing options coming I have seen a few out there using Arcanist and Warden skills thrown in Anyone got any builds that would give a similar or better result to the above?

You could swap Earthen Heart for Assassination and use either morph of Grim Focus instead of Eruption. You could drop Draconic Power as well, since none of its passives increase your DPS. Replacing that skill line with Storm Calling would be a good option I believe, as you could then use Critical Surge in content where you need some self-healing and Hurricane if you don't. Storm Calling's passives are quite nice too.

Aedric Spear instead of Storm Calling would be nice too - even if you don't actually use an Aedric Spear ability and slot a healing skill such as Resolving Vigor or Healing Soul, you still benefit from two good passives that would increase your DPS (Burning Light and Balanced Warrior). And in situations when you don't need Vigor, you could use an Aedric Spear ability such as Blazing Spear instead because merely slotting an Aedric Spear ability will increase your Critical Damage by 12%.

Another option would be to use Herald of the Tome instead of Draconic Power and use these skills: Inspired Scholarship, Cephaliarch's Flail, Fatecarver, Relentless Focus, Flames of Oblivion, Standard of Might. Such a setup won't really resemble your current MagDK though, whereas the playstyle with the aforementioned skill lines will still be pretty much the same.

Amazing response, thank you for taking the time to write that. Certainly got a few options to have a play with. I think it's going to be a case of making some small changes first as you say.

I don't want to completely change things, and all in dps isn't strictly critical, I like to have at least one skill in there for survivability purposes, Coagulating Blood in this case so I like your idea of swapping that out for Critical surge.

Will probably go for Merciless Resolve instead of Eruption to keep it magicka based but will try Relentless Focus too. :-)

Even without sub classing, I would say have a go at swapping out out Coagulating Blood for Obsidian Shard, the stone giant morph. It's a good burst heal, that does damage has a chance to proc burning and if your health is full can heal up to two allies instead.

I had overlooked it for a long time due to how many times stone giant has being revised over the years.
