It looks like the arcanist dps stranglehold has gotten stronger with subclassing?

They've been a lot of videos focussing on pure damage but Eigh1Puppies video (link below) also discusses the effects on raid groups. Namely, that with the arcanist beam, the extra penetration and crit damage means that EC and Alkosh are no longer needed.
Can anyone confirm this? Previously a DK could given an arcanist a run for their money in actual content but it looks like this is no longer true. It seems like really horrible news because it locks in the arc even more as the only real option in endgame.

Can't really say for sure as it'll take some time for the meta to shake out but in discussions I've witnessed, yes support DPS will dwindle and may be asked to run arcanist as well.

It just seems to be getting worse and worse with subclassing?
I was so hopeful that the extra damage may get the other classes back into endgame but it looks like the opposite is true.

The "extra damage" always was "extra damage as long as you're running Fatecarver and Assassination and one of a couple other line options."

That's what people have been saying this whole time - Subclassing isn't raising everyone's DPS as much as it's just allowing everyone to run the same skills, which means the people who are "building the way they want" are going to be left behind as much as the people who want to stay pure class. But if you're a min-maxxer already, you're going to be getting a lot more opportunity to get a lot more power. Be prepared for the gap between the min-max sweats and everyone else to get much wider, and you're only gonna get nerfs from here on out.

I used to joke that every class should have a beam to compete with arcanist. Apparently, jokes are prophetic.

Yes, but even worse. Against one boss, you might be a dawn's wrath arcanblade, but against the next you might be an ice arcanblade or a fire arcanblade. It's going to be SO tedious.

The micromanagement requested by raid leads will be absurd. No wonder zos realized they had to give console players access to addons to manage this farcical gameplay.

Edit: I actually don't know for certain if this is possible. I had that impression from my brief time on pts, but I do not clearly remember.

Thank goodness. I was hoping someone would make another complaint thread about arcanists or subclassing. It looks like one-stop shopping for this one.

Another thing to add is that non-Arcanist mains can't even use the Class Script for the Crux gen on Banner Bearer, which puts them further behind even if they use an identical skill setup.

I think you need to respec to change skill lines, but it has been mentioned that there might be scorepushers crazy enough to use respec scrolls mid run.

It is a bit early, I plan to go Sorc, NB, Necro most likely. Maybe Sorc, NB, Temp not sure yet. I'm sure Arcanists will totally be a thing as well. I'm interested to see how well the ice wardens are doing too.
