Has Golden Pursuits finished?

I settled down to finish the last task on Golden Pursuits and find it is not there? I thought it was meant to go on until the 29 May, which is today? Why has it stopped half way through the day? I'm gutted and angry at myself but if you do promote something that says 1-29 May, please can it actually cover the whole of 29 May and not only part of it.

All events (including Golden Pursuits) start and end at 10AM EDT/3PM BST, no matter which time zone you live in.

i assume it ended 4 hours ago as that's the same time when events usually end.
which is 16:00 for me (currently CEST (UTC+2))
That would be why it ended halfway through the day.

There were 4 weeks to complete these tasks which seems like plenty of time to me.

Though if something runs until a certain day surely it's best to complete it the day before at least?

    Thank you for clarifying Maitsukas.

I've not been playing for a while due to personal commitments and tbh I forgot that ... not that I could get on before 5 pm today anyway, so I was scuppered. I feel it is rather misleading on their marketing, which is what I remembered. Very upset at what a complete waste of time it has now been. What is the point... hours of my life wasted... oh well.

Usually I do LunaFlora, usually I do. I was meant to get on yesterday but things happen.

One of those things ... but I am so disappointed. I'll never get those hours back and some of the tasks were so time consuming.

I realise there was a month - well not quite ... which is also odd why it stopped at 28.5 days - but I had personal commitments I had to do and could not access this computer, so I was rushing to get it done and it completely slipped my mind about not getting a full day on the last day of an event.

It is sadly putting me off everything now as when I log in it just reminds me of this. As you can see I'm annoyed at both the system and myself.

There are bigger things to get upset about in the world today, don't allow this issue to get to you - would be my advice. ESO is a great game, but Golden Pursuits are a trivial part of it when you consider all the rest of the game that has given you so much pleasure.

As for wanting events to last to the end of the final day, you have to realise the number of different time zones that apply in a game that is played globally. There is no "end" that would cover all of them.

    Thankyou, Tandor.

Sadly I'm a housing person in a housing guild and this cuts deeply.

I feel they could do two cutoffs though - one for USA and one for Europe. I am on a EU server so I've never understood why they finish events half way through the EU work day when most can't get on until the evening.

Exactly katanagirl1. I would perhaps had to on this one, if I'd remembered the 1/2 day we are given, as I'd already spent hours and hours on it. It is not very EU friendly; I sometimes can't see why they bother with NA and EU servers.

They should have the option of paying for a limited number of tasks you have left (perhaps up to one fifth, so 5 of the 25 needed) with crowns; that way, those who want to work on it can get it for free; those who are a busy and forgetful like me can top up 1-2 tasks (I just had login and some quests to do) and we are not penalised for having to work on the last day.

When you view the Golden Pursuits screen (which I assume is no longer there), it says near the top of the screen how many days and hours are remaining in the current campaign. I find this to be very helpful whenever I want to check on how much longer I've got to finish the required number of Golden Pursuits.

As others have said, all events and all Golden Pursuits campaigns begin and end at 10 AM Eastern USA Time. This 10 AM time is constant regardless of whether Standard Time or Daylight-Saving Time is currently in effect, so the beginning/ending times will always be either 10 AM EST or 10 AM EDT, as opposed to one hour later during Daylight-Saving Time.

When you said you were wanting to complete "the last task," I hope you meant the 38th one and not the 25th one, and that you had already earned the free player house but were trying to complete all of the remaining Golden Pursuits for completionism. But if you did mean you were trying to complete the 25th activity, then I am sorry that you didn't get to earn the player house before the campaign ended.

Sadly, SeaGtGruff, t was the 25th task. All I needed to do was login and do a few quests, and in my mad rush had forgotten the last day is a half day. I am not a particularly good fighter so don't do dungeons with teams, so I went through all the waiting around for the delve and public dungeon bosses, the fishing etc, and since I'd only got back to my computer not so long ago it had been a lonely slog some evenings.

I need to be more Frozen and let it go... but for the moment I'm hot and bothered Galena and not Elsa :/

i've always thought it odd also. the last "day" of events to get tickets only lasts a few hours. NEVER trust the end date. always try to get things done ahead of time. there have been a few times that something broke and they had emergency (or sometimes even regular....) maintenance that went past the end of an event and ppl miss out on things.

you mentioned about paying off some of the tasks with crowns... more than likely the house will be in the store at some point for crowns. i don't see them allowing us to pay off tasks, but if they did, it would probably be like event tickets and way overpriced

True, scrappy1342. But as a house builder and in a housing guild, I possibly would have paid for a task. I feel it dilutes the event if you can pay for it completely, but up to say 1/5th of the tasks would be a good compromise.

I usually finish things early, this time it got away - ironically was in the middle of selling my late parents' house. Perhaps that was a reminder to focus on the real world occasionally (thanks mum & dad!).

I wouldn't worry about it much. The free house was already 289/350 full inventory wise, so it's basically worthless as a furniture dump, which is what most of us who don't do housing need.

Actually, DCUO now does this for their new GP-like events, but other than that ESO’s version of the system is way better. In DCUO, you have a choice of like three activities of which you have to do one per day 20 times, so a lot of repetition, and if you miss a day, you lose that days credit. But fear not! You can buy a completion for the event ending if you get close to the end and don’t have all 20 credits that is prorated by how many of the 20 credits you missed. Personally, I like ESO’s system better. 🙂

You could, of course, submit a ticket and ask for a sympathetic hearing based on your misunderstanding over the last day of the event. It might work, especially if your ticket is entirely polite and acknowledging that it was your mistake and not the result of their timing decisions.

@ZOS_Kevin Is there anything that could be done in this case please?

I'm sorry for everyone that missed out, but I don't blame zos for this one. The problem here was waiting until the last moment to complete it. I've been there. I just missed some twitch drops in another game I play for exactly that reason. I own it.

I think it they should give us warnings for these, and other limited time activities such as events, etc..

Start a few days before the event is to end and say something specific like "This event will be ending in 4 days, 3 hours and 25 minutes on May 29 at 10 am CDT". It is too easy to see the final day listed as May 29, but not realize how early this is for many players and think we have the whole day to do it.

Or say "The last full day of the event will be May 28, and it will end on May 29 at 10 am CDT"

They do say that. On the news screen when you log on (sometimes on the second or third page of it, so it's worth clicking thru all pages!) and on the golden pursuits page itself.

More warnings? Golden Pursuits couldn't be more obnoxious. Even when I had completed them, the game was still trying to ram them down my throat... for 30 days. Plus every time I opened the window, it was impossible for the bright yellow Golden Pursuits text not to grab my attention.

I always complete the Golden Pursuits as fast as I can, usually in just a couple of days. But I have more time to play than others may, so that is not possible for everyone.

I think the problem is that players don't expect it to just stop in the middle of the day. I always thought ending it at the end of the day would be more intuitive.

Similar thread appeared on the last golden pursuit too...

If there are 7 days to complete a task, then there are players doing everything on the 7th day.
If there are 100 days to complete a task, then there are players doing everything on the 100th day.

Basic human nature: if there are 10 days to do a homework assignment, there are students doing it at midnight on the 10th day. Events like this are rough for people who have actual real life events get in the way that prevent them from completing early. As noted above, I suspect that the Gallery will become available in the Crown Store at some point - it's too nice to not do that. OP still has my commiserations though: it's easy to forget that 10 am deadline. In fact, I lucked out on the previous event because I just happened to sign in early morning on the last "day" and grab the the final event ticket I needed - if I'd waited to my usual play time, I would have missed it.
