Mage recall from the pre-order still not working correctly.

Screenshot below. The mage recall from the pre-order is still broken.

I used it to port from the world to a wayshrine and it worked correctly.
But when I was next to the wayshrine I went to use it again to show it to my wife that the "mage recall had been fixed" (per patch notes), but upon doing so I saw the "mage portal" under my feet again.

So, it still seems to be bugged, but maybe on some kind of conditional like the gold cost? I dunna.

I took this about 5 min ago.

I’m afraid I have to say that personally I liked it better before they fixed it. I thought it was nice being a more generally magical transport than a specific major’s guild transport. My Psijics use it. Maybe they could do a Psijic Recall next, pretty please?

Actually Psijic recall would be nice, they already have the animation for it too. You can see the Psijics in Artaeum come in and out.

Perhaps you mean the effect under the feet should appear in front like the final portal? Then yes, it still under the feet right now.

Can we get a clip of how it's supposed to look? I'm not even sure what it's supposed to look like now haha

I don't know, but it seems to work fine for me. Anyway I am quite happy with it. I will have to try it next to a wayshrine to make sure, but I feel sure I have already done that.

Yeah, I knew it was bugged when I saw it since I did also see it on PTS last cycle, but there was definitely a part of me that was really like "man, I hope this one doesn't get fixed because I like it better this way."

After testing it out next to a wayshrine it worked just fine for me.

I believe what people mean is that it is not working like the picture? Am I right about this? The picture shows, as a post above mine also shows, you create and walk into a portal. When I do the animation, I just walk forward into nothing. I'm aware that some prefer this but I must say, what attracted me this this recall was the portal. That's not to say it was the selling point of buying the pass, that would be crazy. Still though, if this is a bug, hopefully we can get it sorted so that it works as intended.

Maybe @ZOS_Kevin could let us know?

Just to clarify, the animation is channeling a portal, which at the end of the animation appears in front of you and you step through. Same when arriving, you step out of a portal.
This final portal was missing at first release, but this is now fixed for me in last patch.
We knew this was missing because of the artwork promotion.

Our assumption currently, without any reference, is that the animation under the feet is supposed to be an incomplete portal that should be in front of the character while channeling, rather than under the feet. At end of channeling the portal is formed and you step through. This needs to be confirmed by the team.

    Exactly this @ZOS_Kevin

The animation at the feet looks like it should be in front of the player avatar/character instead of under the feet while casting. It feels like part of the animation was fixed, but not the other half. But this is an assumption on our part as we have no reference except the promotional image.

Regardless, cool recall nonetheless. Very cool recall!

The magic effect on the ground in the fixed version looks natural to me, as though it is intended. It disappears when the portal forms in front of you.
I feel it's working as it should.

The magic effect on the ground in the fixed version looks unnatural to me, as though it is not intended as evidence of the caster casting before him with hands facing forward. A portal should "power up" and materialize from the front of the caster, not under their feet.

There's a hazy ring floating in front of the caster's hands while he is casting, until the spell reaches a certain point and the portal pops open.
It's right there in the pic you posted.
The magic effect on the ground is just that; an effect.

We'll see what @ZOS_Kevin says, though, after he has consulted the team.

And that magic effect on the ground looks like it should be forward in front of the caster.

There is no swirling magic under the feet.
On live, the radius of the swirling magic under the feet meets up with the portal in front. In the official promotional image, there is no swirling magic meeting up to the portal in front of the caster. This is why me, and others still think its broken.

So please, this is not a debate or up for debate. Its simply pointing out what looks to be like an issue.

In the official promotional image, there is no swirling magic meeting up to the portal in front of the caster.

That's because the ground effect vanishes at the same time the portal pops open in front, like Ralphy's video above shows.

Interesting. Mine just doesn't look like that. Looking at it while moving my camera around to see, it has no portal in front. I'll double check when off work.

I’ve noticed that when you’re porting to a house, you can swivel the camera around and see the full effect, but it seems like if I’m porting to a friend, the camera freezes in front of me up close to the camera. Or maybe that’s if I’m reporting to a wayshrine, I’m not at home right now and can’t check. Does this sound familiar?

OR it's not intended in the first place as it looks like the open portal itself.
The animation underneath the character makes no sense.

Just checked in and the way it is displaying in the video below is as intended. The animation under the feet during summoning the portal is working properly.

If you use it in game, it is very obviously intentional by desirng. The ground effect is much different than the vertical portal. And they look very different except that they share colors from the same palette.
