Maintenance for the week of September 15:
• [COMPLETE] PC/Mac: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 15, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC)
· Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 16, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)

There's nothing in the header on the forums, except the U46 on PTS, but the client has popped up the notification of a maint tomorrow.

Yes, I've just come here to ask that too. The launcher is reporting that PC EU and NA will be off at 8am UTC, but no banner on the forums and esoserverstaus.net isn't reporting anything. Please let us know. Many thanks.

Yes, this is really well thought out maintenance on a holiday while many people are free and could have played today IF there had been no maintenance.

And of course just during the event that ends tomorrow.

Can't believe they are doing server maintenance on Easter monday again. After getting negative feedback about it from european players every year. What was so broken in the game it couldn't wait till wednesday - when 1) event is over, and 2) everyone is back in work / school from the state holiday?
Can someone please mark on next year's calendar to NOT schedule maintenance on this major state holiday in Europe and other countries? @ZOS_Kevin

Couldn’t agree more. Imagine those people buying the game on the massive discount right now and on a public holiday across Europe and getting maintenance. It’s almost insane. I cancelled ESO+ after years and years earlier this year and was sitting around waiting for the regret to hit and resigning up. After the insanity of the new chapter pricing situation and this holiday patch I’m still waiting for what’s going to bring me back.

The maintenance was all of a couple of hours. Completed during the lowest population period. Wow, it was gawd awful wasn't it?

The problem was not the maintenance per se, but the lack of announcement. No one had an idea that it would happen, when, and how long would it last. The announcement was posted only after it has already started.

Yeah, and? Not seeing an issue here. They pushed a quick hotfix. They did it quickly, no muss no fuss.

The problem is, no one knew if it'd be a quick hotfix or last 12+ hours.

... But I guess some people choose to deny a problem existing even when there are literally dozens of complaints. Nothing anyone can do about that.

In central Europe maintenance lasts from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. That would be fine on business day, since most people would be in work or school anyway. But it is major annoyance on state holiday, when everything is closed, people are home and have finally time to sit down after lunch and game for a bit. Not having proper announcement just adds insult to injury.

All I'm saying is that it's a non issue, and nothing to lose sleep over. The maintenance was barely a blip on the radar, affected very few people, and fell during a time period where regular maintenance usually happens so not a surprising occurance.

Hardly anything to get so worked up that it merits anything more than a "<shrug> What'cha gonna do?".

    https://www.statista.com/chart/29679/where-easter-monday-is-a-public-holiday/

This is where Easter Monday is a public holiday. You'll notice it includes almost the entirety of Europe, plus Australia and New Zealand (none of which, by the way, are on American eastern time).

If ZOS can't fathom that they sell an entertainment product, not an accounting application, and people consume entertainment in their time off, perhaps they should choose another business. You don't close a cinema on public holidays, or a theatre, or a music venue. I mean, you could do, but you wouldn't last very long.

Who closed ESO? Using your analogy.. at best they kicked everybody out of the venue to clean up the trash and the sticky stuff off the floor between shows. When I go to the cinema or a music venue, I get really turned off if the floors are sticky. Even on Holidays.

I'm not following. To take this to its natural conclusion, they would close the cinema for cleaning on the Independence Day weekend. Slap bang in the middle of peak hours.

This was not intentional. We normally put a maintenance banner and it was missed in the process this time. We've made note of it to avoid in the future. Thanks for highlighting this for us to improve upon in the future.

A further improvement would be if you could mark Easter Monday as a holiday in your calendar and avoid maintenance on that day.

The theater also isn't going to start the movie over because you can't get there at the listed start time. Businesses have schedules and after more than a decade here we should never be surprised by a Monday maintenance even if ZoS fails to announce one. And even on the busiest of weekends they don't start the movie over again immediately after it ends. There is time between showings for a variety of reasons.

Would there be complaints if maintenance was done on the 4th July weekend. Yes there would. There is no difference here (unless people seriously think "but it's America" is the difference).
