Subclassing Thoughts

Hi!

I noticed a trend on subclassing threads, and it seems to be:
"Meta endgame loses flavor, therefore, this is a bad change."

I wanted to offer the following as a reply:
"Meta endgame has already lost so much flavor that this isn't some exceptional state of affairs."
(I hope this isn't too controversial).

More controversially:
"Meta endgame can *never* be as flavorful as the rest of the game, because it demands perfection, and there will always be The Perfectest Solution™ for any situation, in any game where there are options."

I wanted to know people's thoughts on this, because it seems wild to me that people will advocate for less overall flavor (here defined as "Elder-Scrolls-ness") in the game by saying that the change will reduce flavor at the very top endgame trifecta groups. Does that make sense?

    I understand what you are saying and I completely agree. The game has evolved to a place where past iteractions no longer exist. Classes are no more (at least what they used to be). The new game is composed of 21 subclasses now, rather than 7 classes. This is it, it's a revolution and there's no going back. We have to accept it and enjoy the freedom and fun it brings.

    That's a defeated mindset.
    Meta end game can be flavorful if each class brings a something to the group play that can not be found anywhere else in the game.
    Or you can create the content around it. For example in PvE vetHM trials you can create side bosses which has additional magic/fire etc resistances so that stam based chars can be used to kill them and vice versa.
    You can create other bosses which gain shield on 25% so execute based classes can shine. You can create mechanics that you have little time to hit so classes with dots can jump from another after using all their skills.

    There are a lot things can be done but ZOS won't. Scribing already left a bad taste on me personally making each class look even more the same. Subclassing is the same but on steroids.
