Tanlorin's perk

I find myself failing to open locks more now with Tanlorin's perk than before. EDIT: I mean "force lock"
ZOS nerfed this perk TOO MUCH, and still does NOT give us the option to forgo a perk if we don't want to use it.
I'm personally tired of companion-perks that are actually worsening.
We already have Ember's perk, which gives me wallets with 100 gold inside (the idea that I can then have an extra chance to make a pickpocket is a bad idea, since the success rate decreases a lot); we also have the annoying Sharp-as-Night perk that makes us fish green and blue fish even when I would like to fish white ones to get the Perfect-Roe.
Can we stop with perks that are not useless, but actually worsening?
At least give us the option to deactivate them!

I don't think I've failed lockpicking? It takes a little to learn but once you nail it.. it's so easy.

WHY do we NOT have cross platform servers in 2025?

I didn't think people were failing lockpicking before Tanlorin's perk, and I don't see how it can get harder due to the perk. Unless you are referring to forcing a lock, maybe something is wonky with that now, but opening chests is trivial with the perk.

OK OK, there is a misunderstanding due to my poor command of the English language.
I'm not talking about lockpicking, but rather about forcing the lock.

I'm speaking about this part of the Tanlorin's Finesse: " increased chance to force a lock, and a reduced chance to break a lockpick" This part for me is incosistent, as if the opposite were actually happening.

Maybe now is more clear, sorry for my poor English.

I'm generally for this. For some characters, a perk might be useful, for some not, so it would be best to be able to choose whether we want it active right now or not.

Even lore-wise it would be no problem. Every perk is related, by the story, to some gift item we got from the companions: a special lockpick, an enchanted fishing lure, etc. It should be our choice if and when we use them.

Tanlorin's perk wasn't nerfed as to how it applies to forcings locks. All they did was lower the probability of preventing a broken lockpick. And it still saves a noticeable number of lockpicks.

As someone who forces an absurdly obscene amount of locks almost daily in ESO, I can assure you that Tanlorin's perk is in no way a detriment to the chances of forcing a lock. You're simply falling victim to run of really bad RNG. It happens.
