The least we can say is that subclassing is not overwhelming success.
Why, because 656 people in a gaming forum voted in a survey that was mostly an even split?
I mean.... not that I really care, but two of those options are clearly negative and one is basically saying "it's meh".... so I'd add those three up against the other two.

So you mean neutral fits on the negative side because you yourself are negative about subclassing?

of course - if subclassing is a priori a bad idea as an assumption, the data must show it.

And voila, if you make this one small and quite reasonable change, the pre-existing conclusion becomes well-supported instead of unsupported, therefore standing as proven by merit of having been assumed in the premises.

    "Assume A is true.
    B doesn't demonstrate A unless C.
C must be true so that B can demonstrate A"

I mean really it's just good sense - after all, it's not like they could be WRONG

Lol, not at all. What the person you originally replied to said is that it's not an overwhelming success.... so yes, people being neutral or not really caring for it in any particular way apply to that statement. Nice try though.

I'm excited and feeling positive about it which is not at all my usual stance on this game, haha.
By the way, I'm not even negative about subclassing and here's part of my first reply to this thread that's right on the first page. I'm pretty neutral so far now that I've actually played with subclassing a bit, but trying to still find a way to properly enjoy it and think it's nice for those who already do.... I'm just also not biased and can read what the numbers are showing on that poll, and that's that yes, most people weren't super pumped about it. As far as I know there has been no poll on how people are feeling about subclassing now that it's actually released, but going off of the existing threads on the subject, the poll would probably be similar to this one.
