Monkey code not working on PS-EU

It seems that the code for the free monkey pet does not work. At least for me and several of my guild members. It says "CODE ENTRY FAILED - This code may have already been redeemed. Double-check your code and try again.".
And several of us tried it immediately after the code was released.
