What is the writ to gold exchange rate?

Spend writs on something, sell to players.

What is the best item to buy and sell?

IMO, it would have to be at least 500-1000g/writ, given the cost/time to create most items (many items are prohibitively expensive to craft).

Check attunable crafting stations on TTC. Could also check a transmute station, which is one of the highest cost items, but checking just that tends to undervalue writ vouchers a little. Basically anything that only comes from writ merchants. Perhaps Gilding Wax, the material for Swift jewelry, for something cheaper.

Probably none of those things are in high demand, although I looked into making a new guild hall once and, if you really want to populate master crafting stations with all 80 sets, it's hard to find enough attunable stations to do so. Thus those may be the best bet.

Writ's value essentially depends on the mats/motif pages cost.
On PC I use the addon Writ Worthy, it shows mats/costs to craft the master writ.

"(...) Most writs consume less than 1000g worth of materials for each writ voucher they return. But some consume 2000g+ materials per voucher and might not be worth doing.

Shopping guild stores for Master Writs? What is the per-voucher cost of a writ, including both materials and purchase price?
This add-on adds text to each Master Writ's tooltip, showing the total material cost, purchase price (if any), and the cost per writ voucher reward.

Yeah, I have this. What I am not sure about is if purchasing and selling things is profitable.

It seems that many of the legendary 100writ type items cost way too much to craft. The smaller ones, especially the enchanting and alchemy can be banged out faster and cheaper.

There is a sweet spot epic item that is in the 30-40 writ range.

    I usually do:
Current gold price for attunable crafting stations ÷ number of writ vouchers they cost = current gold value per individual writ voucher.

Gold quality woodworking writs are usually the best, lots of writs for cheap mats means low cost per writ.

Gold quality tailoring writs, enchanting writs using hakeijo and provisioning writs using perfect roe are usually the worst, expensive mats means those result in a loss.

Alchemy and enchanting writs are basically xp boosters. Since they don't require motif/recipe knowledge, you can use those to boost new characters to max level during double xp events (combine with xp scroll). If all your chars are max level already you can use them to train unfinished class/weapon/vampire skill lines. If you don't care about the xp you'll get more profit selling those to other players.

Use Writ Worthy to check the cost per voucher (needs ttc addon for prices I think) and to do large amounts of writs in bulk (saves a lot of time).

I remember when crafting writs were first introduced, they were 1,000g PER voucher. You could make serious money trading high value writs if people were willing to pay.
