I'm certainly not staying up that late for ESO's current version of cyrodiil. I imagine I'm not the only one.
How on earth can this happen?
Sad how some would rather lag and desync like crazy just to "steamroll" instead of support the improvement of the entire system. I personally always saw ESO PVP as a means of respecting all the opponents' agency - where every player has a chance of defeating you. I was a Ravenwatch non-CP player strictly even before, as the "Viper Velis" of each patch cycle were tiresome and ripped player agency out of the victims" hands. Outplaying the opponent through proper blocks, stuns and punishes feels more satisfying to me than just wearing BIS and pressing keys lol But ehhh not everyone cares about learning the game. I don't want to see this game lose its opportunity to improve as a whole over the sensational "Pro PVP Player" group (who somehow can't play without procs). I am the one who sees my faction at a backfoot and says "Lets make something happen". Well, I used to be anyways. Been running Imperial City for a more intimate experience, as the lag and proc exploitation in Grey Host never appealed. I was hoping 8v8 BGs would function as a Ballgroup containment box but nope! Now that Ravenwatch is proc reactivated I don't really Cyrodiil anymore. Needs fixing. How on earth can this happen?
Why would you go somewhere where you will most likely lose, when you can go somewhere where you will apparently win ? In a way, it's just common sense - I really think the 'challenge' part of cyrodiil PvP is vastly exagerated, the vast majority of people going into Cyrodiil just want to steamroll other people, one way or another, be it by going to a campaign where your faction is overwhelming or at least in a good spot against the other two, by participating as a highly organized near unkillable group ( I don't think you play in a ball group because you're looking for challenging encounters ), by playing some cheesy thing that don't rely on number to kill things ( ganker and the like ).
The choice then become obvious - if you're an average pvp player, why in oblivion would you go in a campaign where your faction is underrepresented ? If you're not prepared to take advantage of this situation, it make no sense, and it make even less sense when there is a campaign where your faction is the dominant one.
it's just common sense, really. And appart from closing all campaigns except Gray Host, it will still be prone to happen.
