Gold/Crown Sellers (real money): is it worth reporting?

I report these posts always as soon as I see them. I would like to see a bit more expedited way of reporting them. Instead of needing to go through three layers of drop down then having to type in that they are selling gold for real world currency that should be something we can more easily chose. I think it happens enough it could have its own category. I'm still going to report them either way.

The only information I provide is literally "gold seller" with no further action on my part, and they are actioned every time. No details are necessary for this particular issue.

The report function sends a lot more information from our session than what we specify.

I never provide screenshots and nearly always get an "action was taken" email....... probably always but three accounts, three different email accounts that I don't always check that often!! 🙂

I don't reply to the emails either.

Way I see it, is they've seen the report, actioned the reported account, job done.

Some nights I report same name three times on my three accounts, it might be excessive but when the name is different the next night, I feel I've maybe helped a little bit! 🙂

Thanks from my side too. I was quoting the text in my reports up to now. It seems there is no need for the bother and I can just type "gold seller".

All, you did motivate me again and I will re-start reporting from today's on.

I reported 2 more this evening and left both on ignore, so it was definitely 2 different accounts. Maybe the same person but on a different account.

Same. Every gold seller I've reported has had the same result.

Although it appears to be the same sellers, I leave mine on my ignore list and then a similar one will pop up the next day. To anyone not using ignore, they'll look like the same account, but they aren't, or I'd not see them.

I does appear pointless, but every report = 1 more person not scammed that day. And I actually don't mind a game of whack-a-mole.

I report them all, copy the text from zone chat and always get a reply as well saying action has been taken. Overall I think there is a benefit to it all as well as self-policing this sort of thing is generally the best/easiest way to act on it.

Please report the accounts in-game when you see them. It gives us the most information when trying to removed bots and gold seller spam like this.

That is not easy to do on PS4/5 console. You cannot just select the chat and report the poster which would be nice. As far as I'm aware the only way to do so is to search their name and then report. It's a real pain. It happens all the time in some zones. Is there an easier way I am missing?

This, and the gold sellers would just create a bunch of accounts in an account-mill and just wait a month before starting to use them. Or... they would purchase used / stolen accounts and just jump right in.

Bad Actions/Cheating/Exploiting seems fairly clear to deal with most bots and gold sellers.

For me, the annoying part is the need to get right up in the offending character's space to get the report to automatically include the name of a character that is botting. To me, this is like running up to a bank robber and staring at them while making the 911 call to report the bank robbery.

On PC, I have a custom addon where I can safely "tag" them as I pass by them and I don't have to mess with interaction and wheels. Sadly, this does not exist (yet) on XBox. I am debating whether I want to do a formal addon for consoles to do this.
