The Vengeance!

I just say: this test not allowing the horrible "Ball groups", magicka tricks and lame Hammer is already a WIN.

I hope ZOS finally realize that ESO pvp do not need stupid skills that create endless regen metas or an OLD tool that only add lag and unbalanced destruction.

For the first time in my casual pvp presence after 6 years of ESO, I spent 40 MINUTES fighting in a SUPER FUN siege without a group of ball jerks or magicka maelstrom crashing my game out.

Alas, this vengeance shall not last. Rest the optimism of a fair ESO pvp after this.

Yes, this is what it is, a casual mode for PVE and new players, or the ones who don’t care about the build diversity, interesting fights, learning curve, etc. Just get in, forget about build/skill diversity or any strategy, follow the Zerg train. Whoever has more numbers of people just wins.
I hate it and I really hope there are less people with this mindset. From what I can see, population in Vengeance is drastically declining, so more people start to realize how boring and repetitive this mode is. That’s really good!

Yep. After less than a week people are already abandoning the "test" and logging off until it's over.

It's doing a superb job at testing and showing performance without a myriad of factors stressing the server, and that's the point.

The novelty of the Campaign is enjoyable, but it's tremendously shallow. While I'm finding it fun for the moment in a sort of braindead bumper-rails sort of way too, the dramatic limitations imposed would quickly make this stale for all but the least invested of PvPers.

Sets, builds, and theory crafting are a massive part of ESO's PvP, as are Skill lines, Mundus stones, AP, and a dozen other factors absent in Vengeance. Without them, we're driving slow one-speed go carts rather than the usual mix of race cars, tanks, and dirt bikes that make PvP in this game exciting. (Sorry for the ubiquitous bad analogy, they're hard to avoid.)

Don't get me wrong, I loathe Ball Groups and what they do to Cyrodiil and think some drastic changes to Heal/Shield stacking and a few sets (RoA) are in order, but Vengeance is a test method and not the end goal. Customization and personalizing your playstyle are ESO's best points, and not something any of us should willingly sacrifice on the altar of "good enough."

No, it’s a weeklong test to see how things run without lots of variables.

This is the most fun Cyrodiil has been in a long long time. Sadly It's the most effective thing they've done to foster the feel of large scale war and sieging keeps in Cyrodiil and it's just a test. Yeah it's shallow, but it eliminated the toxic aspects of the campaigns which has surged interest in this gamemode from people who would've spent 15mins in Cyro get RoA ball griefed say this is butt and never come back. Hopefully all the positive feedback from the PvE crowd will have ZOS finally listen to the PvPers who've been begging them for years to address balls groups at a systemic level not with gear sets and remove heal/shield stacking.

It also proves us right that ESO has the potential for top tier PvP the bones are good and strong they just need to take care of them. The totality of Vengeance is more enjoyable than the totality of the regular campaigns, and until ZOS hits these pain points a lot of players are gonna drop Cyro after the test like before. I just hope they don't take too long and kill all the new interest that was gained from the test to making lasting impactful changes.
