Can we have Golden Pursuits for PvE players....

How interesting. That's probably why there have been multiple different golden pursuits so far, catering to a variety of interests. But again, I don't design the pursuits folks, just sharing my opinion. Arguing with me won't really get ya different pursuits. I always say vote with your feet - zos sees the data, and the only thing that's likely to get them to change their path is low participation. Judging by the number of people in Cyro today, that is not going to be the data they take away from this test and this pursuit, however.

EDIT: Look I'm not trying to be overly dismissive or negative here, but it's a one week, kinda one-off thing. There are no unique rewards in the pursuit. A pve event starts in a few days. It's all going to be ok, I promise.

Its such a constant. The second a PvP Event takes place, or a pursuit has PvP aspects, you can set your clock on the first PvE players complaining, how mean ESO is to them with 95% of events and pursuits for them, because it should be 100%.

Really that constant whining of PvE players is such a nuisance.

    Seriously?

After years and years of the game being heavily focused on all things PVE, PVP players finally get just a brief moment in the sun and boom - complaints about "too much PVP".

Chillax my friend. PVE players will have their GPs soon enough.

PvP players should accept there are other opinions and votes besides their own. They're loud and persistent, but very marginal in numbers.

The rewards are PvP currency, used almost exclusively for PvP things. You're missing out on nothing. PvPers have to do PvE to get gear all the time, because our gear is bound unlike theirs, which can be traded.

pretty sure that's why the rewards are just gold and ap. they don't want anyone to feel forced to do it. also, this is the first time they have done a test like this, so i guess one of one would equal always lol

    Nothing makes sense anymore.

    You don't HAVE TO.

    No one is FORCING you.

If a PvPer WANTS any PvE thing (gear, trifectas, mounts, skins, costumes, etc) then they've got to PvE whatever it takes to get the reward.

So, as a PvEer, if you WANT the reward, you've got to PvP whatever it takes to get the reward.

But you are NOT being FORCED.

Plus the only other "test" I can think of was the No-proc No-CP "test", no one FORCED PvEers into that test anymore than they are being FORCED into this one.

Yeah, they were quick and easy to earn. It took a couple of hours for me, but I completed 9 of them on PCEU and 10 on PCNA.

There is some pain, however-- I'm earning so many Rewards For The Worthy that I'm going to need to reconstruct a lot more daggers to store my excess TCs, and I'm already drowning in reconstructed daggers as it is. Assuming I keep participating in the test every day this week, I'm going to have to switch to converting my excess TCs to Nirncrux.

I seriously can´t understand the outrage about not getting a few AP you usually don´t care about.

Maybe players in general could turn their game time into a lot more enjoyable experience, if they don´t expect everything to be about them and for them and just skip what they don´t enjoy instead of feeling forced to tick off every ingame to do.

I was planning to skip this endeavour but the sky screenshots made me curious and then I was having a blast in cyro finishing it anyways. Whould I have gone into the campaign with a "I must complete that as fast as possible because I hate it and they force me" the experience would have been spoiled from the beginning.

This is the 6th golden pursuit. 4 of them have been exclusively PVE. One was during Mayhem and was naturally PVP oriented. And this one is for the Cyro test, to incentivise more players to join the test with some extra PVP currency.

Do you think your assessment is fair?

I don’t normally PvP, but what people are saying about this new Vengeance campaign is making me curious enough to try it as soon as I have time, if I can get past the queue, of course! But I’ll be trying it because I choose to, not because I feel forced to do so, and if I happen to get any of the Golden Pursuit rewards that will be icing on the cake! 🎂

TBH this is a pretty good opportunity for PvE players to actually try some PvP with the more basic templates and large groups you can follow and learn with.

This ! Imo everything what pve players may annoy or let them give up on pvp is eliminated in this test.

No unkillable tanks, no oneshot gankers, no flag bombers, no ballgroups, no broken set combination, no heal stacking, no tower humpers. Everyone is at the same level, same values, same defense.

So yes, this is the perfect opportunity for pve players to lure into pvp.

I'm enjoying the break, to be honest. All of the Golden Pursuits so far have been PvE save for the Mayhem event one. I saw the new Golden Pursuit go up yesterday and actually kinda sighed at first because we are just about to go into a solid month of events (Jesters Festival starts this Thursday, then Anniversary Jubilee will follow shortly thereafter). I saw only 7 days to do the Pursuit... and then saw I would miss absolutely nothing other than AP and a whopping 30k gold.

I'm totally fine sitting this one out on console and resting before the real event grind cranks up in a few days.

Fortunately, everything in the game doesn't revolve around one person's wants. Also there have literally been pve golden pursuits, but OP knows this I'm sure.

Why not add both PvP and PvE missions separately so everyone can enjoy what they like most? I'm pretty sure there are a lot of PvP players who hate PvE, just like there are a lot of PvE players who hate PvP. So why can't we have both types of missions and make everyone happy?

Forcing PvE players into PvP just to participate in some kind of PvP test they don’t even care about? I'm sure having players who hate PvP in PvP tests makes perfect sense to someone… but not to me.

I also dont like expiring FOMO rewards to make players play content they do not play for fun but do not see anything forcing you to participate in PvP test. None of the golden pursuit rewards is exclusiv to this golden pursuit or cant be received otherwise anytime. It is just 30k gold and 300k ap. You can get gold for almost every ingame activity and ap is pvp currency with very limited use. Players also not receive 30k gold, 100 transmutes and 5gold juwelry from end of campaign rewards in vengeance PER CHAR and cant do Cyrodiil quests. If you didnt feel obligated to get end of campaign rewards you should not feel obligated to get this golden pursuit.

But you could also just do it. In vengeance PvP you have no build disadvantage and much lower skill disadvantage as PvEer against PvPers.

    Nothing makes sense anymore.

You get PvP template build for this test as this test is testing PvP templates, so the äquivalent would be players including PvP players getting trial build templates to test trials.
PvP players have to run DLC dungeons all the time to get sets and on vet to get Monstersets designed for PvP but locked behind PvE content and also have to buy dungeon DLC for it despite not having fun in the dungeons and either have to use PvP gear (and usually fail) or make PvE builds.
There is a dungeon event requiring you to finish a dungeon daily and other events where it is one of multiple options but PvP isn’t and they do not give you templates.

You do not need to kill 150 players as there are 12 tasks and you have to complete only 8.

From all the things turning ESO from "Play the way you like" into "Play the way others like" like events, daily rewards, endeavours and golden pursuits this golden pursuit is definitely the least offender if atall.

Even though console players can’t participate in the test, it has lured players into Cyrodiil anyway.

Gray Host DC campaign is usually only 1-2 bars during early prime time but there was a queue yesterday. I got in, the hammer came out, ten minutes later I had completed the Golden Pursuit already.

Most of the Golden Pursuit campaigns have been for PvE players. A lot of the endeavors are more PvE oriented.
Currently there's a PVP test going on in Cyrodiil, so that's why the GPs are PVP oriented, to try to get players over there.

This is the only Golden Event to be all PVP. FFS look at the rewards ...... Not anything to jump up and down about 30,000 gold ... seriously. 300k total AP.

I got the end reward in about 30 minutes. (keep in mind you don't get rewards until you leave Cyro) Any clown can stand on a wall and fire a balista. I guess the balista damage counts for all the damage because I knew I didn't get to kill 150 (had 120) and came back later but when I logged on I had finished because I capped all the damage.

My mainly PVE self didn't find it too hard to do all of the pursuits in one morning. The queue in the evenings is ridiculous though, with the queue bugging out it isn't worth the effort to me. But I am done, hopefully they get their data. I hard locked twice, requiring a manual game close which is very rare typically.

I had two disconnects with one requiring a manual shutdown. One happened after a really long battle just before we turned the flags.
These might be the easiest tasks as a whole we have been given for Golden Pursuits. I went in on my 2nd account and finished really quick not even realizing I did so. None of my characters have participated in PvP on that account so I thought this would be a good opportunity to get them some skills. So far it has been fun.

yea they were pretty easy, if you wanted to be cheesy you could just hop on the AD zergs and get all the things done in a half hour probably.

My locks were during AD zergs attacking EP Arrius I think, so probably the two highest pops congested in one location. I'm sure the few DC were around trying to pick off AD as they could or whoever they could. My system isn't stellar but isn't super ancient either, Ryzen 5 5600x (Alienware hand-me-down) with 16GB DDR, 3070 FE, and a Samsung 850/60 EVO.

My support that needed some alliance war skill line boosts got a whole level or two from this.
