Suggestions for the forums

I've noticed something. Compared to other online game forums these ones seem to have the least amount of activity. Other game companies have direct links to the forums on their game launchers which gives people easy access to the forums. But unlike other forums the community managers here are communicating with the players more (which is greatly appreciated).

Any suggestions to keep these forums more active and awesome?

I've also noticed that there's been much less activity on the forums in the last few months than in the last seven years I've been reading here. My theory is that this is also due to the fact that we've simply received much less content in the game in recent months compared to other years. Yes, we just had two new dungeons in Q1, like every year. But otherwise, it's a huge difference. There was no new content in Q3, only PvP content in Q4, and there was no major announcement in January with all the speculation that goes with it... Now we're waiting for an announcement in April, and when will the new content arrive? Late summer?

I think it's because of the content draught

For forums to be more active there should be something to actually discuss, preferably something new and not old same points back and forth. Game isn't moving anywhere currently and we'll see if that's changing or not next month, where some new discussions might get sparked but there's no guarantee it would be positive ones at that.

People also got their pain points recently and those are getting worked on, allegedly. But results are probably will get to the surface at the very least in a year or so, not saying about more severe ones.

I think that's the key, there was essentially nothing new for half a year outside of the bg changes (which did in fact produce some lively discussions, and I suspect we'll get some more of these with vengeance). Add to that no major announcements from zos... we're all waiting for April. For players uninterested in pvp, there really isn't and hasn't been something new to discuss for a while.

TL;DR; IMO the best way to get more activity on the forums would be through new content, and exciting updates that lead to more activity in the game itself.

Well, sometimes complaints are warranted. Sometimes they're warranted until the problem is solved, so people are justified in repeated complaints about the same issue as well. o:)

For players uninterested in pvp, there really isn't and hasn't been something new to discuss for a while.

Honestly, the whole year hasn't been much. I think they've allowed the dungeon queue situation to cause a lot of people to lose interest in dungeons. Even the transmutes don't help much with queue times anymore.

There's only ever one trial a year.

And they've dramatically reduced overland content and also made it less fun with the overabundance of immunity phases.

I get they're responding to people who say to prioritize fixes over new content, but I think it's a mistake to go this far with that. It's a niche, vocal audience that doesn't care about new content. Most people are going to get bored with too much repetition. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be fixing the game but they've eliminated almost all dlc at this point. 3/4 of the PvE dlc content drops are gone.

Apart from the lack of new content, I can remember a few posts from last November/December and the beginning of this year where people stated why they feel discouraged from participating in discussions, with some having lost interest because of it altogether. As long as these issues are not resolved, the silence is not surprising.

Yep, over-moderation is a big turn off.

There are two other problems as well: 1) people not thinking ZOS ever listens so there's no point and 2) the judgement others hold about us as people. Unfortunately, I'm not sure those 2 points can be fixed, even though the 2nd one is a self-fulfilling prophecy as if people do not like what we say they can always make an account and post their opinions. (One such thought is that everyone here are casuals, but that would not be the case if endgamers posted more).

This is what I was afraid to say, and for very good reason.

Also that, didn't included previously because it's pretty obvious after the last years when it's became that rampant and chased some prominent community members off.
