Question regarding glyphs

Mohrdechaia
I posted this in the players helping players section, however noone was able to give an answer. Maybe some master enchanters can shed some light?

I crafted a glyph of +17 magicka which could be used on items between levels 5-15, however when I applied it to my armor (lvl 12) it only added +6 magicka. Am I missing something here?

I forget exactly which but several parts of your armor only get a diminished value from glyphs while others get the full value.
    :(

PS: I think i remember that smaller items like boots and gloves only get the smaller percentage value ...

Ah ok ... does it actually state this information anywhere?

Didn't this happen in Skyrim as well?
I believe there was a preview of sorts before you completed the enchantment of before and after.

No not in Skyrim. Yes there is a preview but I didn't actually mouse over since I only had the 1 glyph - assumed it would add the amount that the glyph stated. More fool me heh

In-game? I don't think so. I thought it was a bug the first time it happened and even reported it.

There was an official comment about it during one of the beta weekends, but those posts have since been deleted.

I guess the only way to find out now is to try it out and take notes ...
