@ZOS_Kevin
I ran into another game issue with ToT, besides the one that you all are currently investigating, where I wasn't able to access the Concede menu. Instead of opening that menu, when I pressed escape, another menu was popping up. I have not been able to reproduce the problem, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Note: I was able to leave the game by reloading UI. I don't know if this caused the opponent to have to sit around forever or if they got the win as soon as I was in the overland again. I didn't like reloading UI for this reason.
***Regarding the Patron Bug, the way that you can tell if your game is in a bugged state or not is be opening the collection menu and seeing if your ToT cards are there. If your cards are there, then I believe that you should be good to play. If they aren't there, then you are in a bugged state and need to restart your game from the client (contrary to the development note, switching toons isn't necessarily going to fix your bugged state). If the Patrons and cards are just being grabbed from players local files and the server can't fix those cards, then this issue seems to show a highly exploitable aspect of ToT***
Also, it's been a while since there have been balance changes in ToT. I generally don't view the design team as receptive to balance change ideas and I'm not happy about that, but whatever, it's unfortunate. That said, I have a balance idea today that may warrant further review because of the strange circumstances regarding how the card changed in the past.
After patch 10.0.5, the card Voracious Tomeshell was changed.
It was a stealth change with no associated Patch Note. The power from Combo 2 was removed. Additionally, the card now only had the "Curse" effect of the opponent drawing one card. Regardless of that change, it still kept it's destroy 2 cards effect.
This ability is just disgustingly, disturbingly, broken. As much as I think that design doesn't care about balance, I know that those are strong words but that's how it seems, can they please at least review Voracious Tomeshell due to the circumstances of it's changing, a stealth change with no Patch Notes? Given that the change was without patch notes and given that the card is such an awful card to see in play, maybe it is possible that there wasn't an intention to push the current version of the card to live.
So maybe there is still an opportunity to make the card a "fun" card rather than a dreadful one.
And I apologize that there is some condescending tone here, but the card itself and lack of obvious, and I really do mean obvious, balance changes are bad enough to warrant it. I also don't understand why ToT get's so many stealth changes. Is there a failure of communication somewhere? The team should be more open to balance changes talked about on the forum. A number of game pieces, as they are now, are an absolute drain on the game with marginal benefit if any at all. There is hypothetical a universe where cards are balanced and players are having fun. Hypothetically, why can't it be this one? Lastly, the things that I'm able to discuss in this thread are sort of crazy. Why does Tales of Tribute seem so out of control? I recommend an audit to review what is going on with our favorite ESO card game.
