Waypoint is still difficult to see

Changing the color of the waypoint has helped but no matter which color I choose there is always the chance that that color is the current world color right where I need to look, making the waypoint invisible. Is there any way to assign a solid background color to the compass bar rather than the current see-thru effect so that we always have contrast?
