"Ling" - What in the world does this even mean?

Twice now, in BGs, I have received a whisper with only 1 word: "ling". First time was a couple months ago, last time was tonight. First time I was on a DPS, this time my Warden Healbot 5000. Neither time were particularly great showings from me, maybe 6-7 kills first time, and surprise, absolutely none this last time

Google Fu says "ling" can be a type of fish, someone who directs things, or someone who composes music.

I... don't think any of those apply here.

I asked my daughters (15 year old fraternal twins), thinking maybe it was their generation's slang. They had no idea.

Help an old man out, wouldya?

Might be shorthand for Zergling, or Lemming?

Both would imply that you follow a group of others everywhere they go. Yes i know that's called playing as a Team, some insults are stupid.

Urban Dictionary suggests it could be short for "lingering" too.

A (rather unbalanced) BG match I was in tonight turned a bit salty as well. Perhaps something bottled up during the PvP event (that must have brought some newbies)?

(I got successive accusations of "just standing there", then "dying on purpose". Not sure what this teammate actually wanted -- stand = much less dying or jump in = die; I was doing the latter. I'll be scouring the forums for "BG etiquette" posts detailing the most sportsmanlike conduct when the opposing team is very strong and there's a wannabe-bully on yours. :) )

    A non-actionable version of <expletive>-ling?
Accusing you to be a bot by calling you a common chinese surname?
Refering to a comic relief character character from the Mulan movies?

Toxicity is funny. I've had that insult lobbed at me recently during Whitestrake, in Cyrodiil, while capturing a point. I wasn't even in a group, I just happened to show up at the same time as two (2) other people.

If that's zerging, what is the proper way to play? I dunno man, this is a big part of why I don't really engage in PvP. Just not interested in banter from anyone on either side.
