ZOS vs Steam vs Epic

I cant get an actual official confirmation on this and could use some help. I currently have ESO through the standard ZOS-ESO launcher. Account and every DLC through ZOS.

If I purchase the base game through Steam...will I have access to my full account and all the DLC? Is there a way to access the game through Steam without having to purchase? Can I buy crowns through steam if i dont have the game through steam but only ZOS?

Same goes for Epic as I do happen to have the game on Epic currently through one of the free giveaways.

I keep hearing conflicting things about this and nothing official. All of this would be through the USA servers and none of it through the EU servers which I am told if you try and do both then you do in deed need to repurchase a lot.

Yes if you purchase the base game through Steam you will have all your DLC. The first time you start the game through Steam it gives you the option to sign into your existing ESO account.

Not sure about Epic (tho I too own all 3 versions), but I’d assume it’s the same as both Steam and Epic just load the ESO launcher.

Yeah but that is just about linking accounts. Nothing about ensuring DLC is transferred. I have accounts linked with Playstation, and as we all know on that different platform you have to make separate purchases. Steam is considered a platform and thus needing a link. So I am looking for something official that states the DLC is transferred.

    I would question it.

I do not think linking a PC game to purchased games in Steam and Epic makes the game all one with access to everything in one place.

No, this is not official. I am tagging @ZOS_Bill and @ZOS_Kevin to see if they can help. I do not expect an official response because they will not want to guarantee everything goes smoothly.

I play the ZOS version on Windows. I play the Steam version on Linux. The DLC I buy on the ZOS version is immediately available to play on the Steam version. All Steam does is start the ZOS launcher.

ESO Plus, purchased DLCs, and Crown Store purchases in general are tied to your ESO account. Purchased DLCs and other Crown Store purchases are also tied to the specific server they were purchased on.

Therefore your experience will depend on whether you are using Steam to log into ESO under a brand new account or under your existing ESO account.

I imagine it would be easy to mess this up by logging into the "wrong" account name through Steam, so you are right to be extra cautious about it, and about wanting to know exactly what you'll need to do to avoid making a boo-boo.

I can confirm as I played at launch on ZOS and moved to Steam as soon as possible. All of my purchased DLC is present and playable when I log in on either platform.
