My main is a Breton magicka sorcerer. Quests, delves, and public dungeons are no problem. Some world bosses and dungeons I can even solo with my favourite NPC companion Ember. I use a Potentate's Staff of Storms, and my skill bar looks like this:
  • Twilight matriarch
  • Impulse
  • Arterial strike
  • Regenerative ward
  • Magical soul
  • Ult: Barrier

I don't switch between bars for the most part, just couldn't get into it so my second bar is pretty much unused.

For armour, I have Necropotence for pet bonuses, and Vampire Lord for the one vampire skill I use regularly use.

The specifics are as follows:
  • Vampire Lord’s Hat
  • Vampire Lord’s Epaulets
  • Reezal Jul’s Necrotic robe of Necropotence
  • Vampire Lord’s Gloves
  • Sash of Necropotence
  • Breeches of Necropotence
  • Shoes of Necropotence
  • Vampire Lord’s Necklace
  • Vampire Lord’s Ring
  • Ring of Necropotence

Everything has been upgraded to epic tier. I'm gonna hold off on legendary upgrades till I find the perfect set. I feel like what I have now is good, since I can heal in duos and groups. But I'm looking for great, so I'd love to hear any tips you expert PvE players have :)

For overland, I’d make use of your backbar by slotting: matriarch, streak/ball of lightning, dark conversion or dark deal, rapids or hurricane (or the other morph) for expedition, and bound aegis. This way you can use your backbar while navigating (and for holding bound aegis since the buff applies to both bars) and frontbar for fighting. Sets don’t matter in overland unless you want to trivialize it by 1-shotting everything, so if you like what you have now I’d just keep it IMO.

If you want to do group PvE at some point though (assuming healer), I’d go for something like:
Spell power cure + powerful assault + spaulder

(trials will want you to have roaring opportunist, jorvulds, master architect, pillagers profit, spell power cure, ozezan, nazaray, archdruid, and more, but yk have to have sets to get sets haha. Dungeons are spell power cure, powerful assault or master architect, ozezan, nazaray, symphony, and archdruid).

    Matriarch
    Combat prayer
    Radiating regeneration
    Illustrious
    Skill of choice here *
    Barrier

    Matriarch
Vibrant shroud (or can have on frontbar)
    Skill of choice here *
    Lightning blockade
    Bound aegis
War horn or atronach (the one that does aoe damage)

    * one of these has to be echoing vigor to proc powerful assault, depends on what bar you make powerful assault. Usually it’s the backbar, then frontbar can use dragonstar restro or blackrose restro or even spell power cure restro depending on situation

If your not planning on using your backbar I would work on getting the Oakensoul ring. The buffs are going to boost your defense/damage a lot. Drop Potentate's for Vampire Lord’s staff, drop Vampire Lord’s ring for Oakensoul and drop Vampire Lord’s Epaulets or hat for one-piece Slimecraw for more crit.

I've been using some version of the lazy sorc for my whole time PVEing. Currently I have Noble Duelist Silks and Sargeant's Mail equipped with the Oakensoul mythic ring and a 1-piece monster that gives spell damage. I just cast Critical Surge, Boundless Storm, and then Elemental Blockade and then heavy attack away with a lightning staff with shock glyph (probably infused). This is a very lazy play style but very strong and I can solo most things. This is a PVE build and not for PVP.
There are plenty of old videos on youtube showing variations of this build but the gear I've indicated above is all you need. If you want to stay far away from all monsters you can replace the Noble set with Storm Master. I believe if you get close to monsters in dungeons/trials then my build above is strongest. This is playstyle dependent and some people wouldn't want to play like I do. But if you're pretty much only heavy attacking this a great and effective setup. It's not elite DPS but will get you through even Vet Maelstrom or Vateshran. You can use 2 pets also besides the 3-skills mentioned above and the destruction staff aoe ulti for your ultimate ability. Crit Surge is for some auto-heals, Boundless is for some aoe damage/speed/defence and Blockade triggers concussed and off-balance with, with empower from Oakensoul gives you crazy good damage with your lightning heavy attacks. You must use a shock glyph infused or charged is recommended. I'm not sure exactly which is better.

Got rid of the vampire lord set instead my new set up is:

maw of the infernal monster set + necropotence chest, legs, sash, gloves and boots + mad tinkerer's necklace, rings, and mad restoration staff for bar 1 and lightning staff for bar 2

My main skill bar looks like this
    • twilight matriarch
    • impulse
    • arterial burst
    • regenerative ward
    • surge

      ult: barrier

    Still working on getting mythics

Hate to tell you this is not the lazy sorc build. This setup was never on that build, and, btw, it IS the name of a published official build, not a style of play. Using the right names are important, and that build while utilizing heavy attacks on a Sorcerer, is NOT a catch-all term for all similar setups.

theres tons of "lazy sorc builds" no one has to do what the official crap says, even the official setups are bad because the devs dont actually play their game. They base everything on the number they see in their data sheets.

I have zero clue what you are on about, BUT Lazy Sorc is a coined name and not a title for a style of play, so you are 100% incorrect. Also, who said anything about the game developers being involved? You've got plenty of content creators who have released their builds publicly that have names. I think people should give credit where credit is due, but also not go around calling their persobal setup something it isn't.
