Set reconstruction for another alliance

Soul Shriven
I have a main character-crafter in the AD alliance, and a new one, which belongs to another - DC.
Can I reconstruct with transmutation crystals a set (weapon/clothes/jewerly) for the second character with the main character?
Because I haven't researched traits on other characters except the main one.

Yes. Almost every piece of gear is account bound, and alliances don't matter.

Yes, but your alts will need to learn the trait you want on the gear in order to reconstruct it.

Just out of curiosity, why the "Almost every piece"? Is there any piece of gear that is character bound?

You can however some PvP gear items will only construct with the style matching your crafter's current Alliance. So if I want to make something specifically for DC however my crafter is currently AD, then that gear will match AD style and there is no option to use another style.

In fact, maybe that's an idea for Transmute items in the future is for us to not just recreate the item but adjust the style as well, as if it were a crafted item. No, it's not the end of the world however in some instances it would be nice to adjust the style same as crafting.
Perhaps this is where a ronin such as you belongs. Today, Victory is mine. Long Live the Empire.

You can use the outfit station to change style, can’t you?

As JinKC98 said, the ones you get from lvling - though this might have changed recently ? But yeah it's mostly anecdotal.

I'll go ahead and grant this explanation.

Basically, if I have a character specifically tied to a given faction and I use a set intended specifically for them (like Deadly for instance), then I can quickly look thru my inventory, see that is an AD set and I know it goes with this or that AD character. As opposed to having everything with one style, it gets jumbled together trying to sort out which Alliance goes with which character. In other words, it helps me organize things if certain characters have gear of a certain style. I just implicitly know it belongs with that character. But then the problem is, the Master Crater is only going to produce some sets from their Alliance only and I have to pay $$$ to change that Alliance to make changes to something else.

I really don't expect everyone to agree on some of my ideas and that's fine. But if it's not too much trouble, there are some changes which others may not understand, yet they do serve a purpose. And this is not the only one of those.

I only mention that because in my case I am going to pick different styles anyway.

Adding styles to the transmute and reconstruction process would add another layer to the interface and require changes. I highly suspect they would not want to take the time and effort to do that, but I could be wrong. I like the fact that we do not need to use style mats during that process, it simplifies things.

All of my characters are max level crafters so I never really thought about it before. It’s just so much easier for me to have them make their own stuff and not have to transfer it all through my ever-full bank. They all do daily crafting writs too for the extra gold and mats.

Of course we all have our preferred method of doing things and they won’t all be the same, and that’s fine.

PSA If you use another alliance character to reconstruct, don't improve it if you don't have the temper passives.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

To add to this, if you equip a blank template from armory to make a PvP build, either make your gear before resetting or remember to put back in your craft passives before anything else. I learned that one the hard way.
