I know pChat exists, and I've used it for a while, but displaying both the character name and UserID in chat at the same time is messy looking, I'd rather have just one name shown by default and then be able to hover over it or right click or something if I want to check the other name. Does something like that exist?

pChat should do that too if you configure it to:
Change the output type to the desired one, like show charcater name.
    Enable the context menu settings.
Right click the username to show the @displayname at the context menu then.

Bonus: You can teleport to the user from the context menu, and see which guild the user is in (if you are in the same guild),
if you enable that at the context menu settings.

Thanks. That's exactly what I want except that it only works if I've set those names to show up normally in the chat, which defeats the purpose entirely as I was trying to have just one name show up in the regular chat and then be able to right click to see what the other name is.

Okay, I thought it would work even without the extra names directly in chat.
I'll have a look if there is a way to achieve that, but could get hard as we need to transport some info from "incoming message to the time you want to use it -> for each message": And that's usually done by printing it into the chat directly.
Else you'd have to create some kind of lookup tables during gameplay (and maybe even further so history messages also contain that data after a reloaduI/logout), which will blow up the SavedVariables size again...
