Temporary fix to the "install" issue

As many of you know the launcher is bugged. It shows install after the last maintenance.
Many players now need to download a 22GB or 5 GB patch etc. For those with weak connections this can be a huge problem, including me.

To still play now you only have to do the following things.

1. Go to your program files
2. Locate the ZO folder
3. Open your Elder Scrolls Online folder
4. Go to Game
5. Go to Client
6. Run ESO. Exe as Admin

Log in and play.

It is important to note that you can play, but we still need to hope for a fix of the launcher as I am not sure if we can still play once a new patch is released as we currently cant use the launcher to patch our game.

Maybe this helps some of you, its only temporary and ya not a full fix, but a workaround.

    I assume that by hitting repair or install, the whole client was wiped. I couldn't hit install as my HD was full, lucky me I guess.

    Try to search for an "ESO.Exe" maybe it was just moved somewhere else.

    Searched for it and nothing comes up. Oh well I started the install like 10 min ago and it's already at 15% guess i'll just wait

    A small update regarding the issue. We at the Customer support forum now know what is wrong.

    The problem:

    The Launcher deletes files which make it possible to ID your game version. If the Launcher cant ID your game version, it assumes you don't have a game installed. That's why you get the message of "Install".

    The fix for EU players:

    I am sorry to say that if you hit Install once, you are screwed. Because of that, do never ever hit that button! Instead do the following...

    Go to this thread,

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/comment/538381/#Comment_538381

    A friendly user has uploaded three files. Those three files you download and put them on your desktop in a folder called "Launcher fix".

    Now you go to your game directory, it is usually located under program files (x86)/ Zenimax Online/ The Elder Scrolls Online EU.

    Once there you need to copy those three files into the following folders.

    depot.version --> Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\depot\
    game_player.version --> Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\
    vo_en.version -->Zenimax Online \The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\vo_en\

    This will give you the launcher back so you can play the game from there.

    Thanks to http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/profile/4700987/Aldarund for submitting the files!

    Fix for the NA version,

    Same procedure, but with the following files.

    http://www.jkgaming.co.nz/gamefiles.rar (I did not test those yet for viruses, so be aware of that)

    depot.version --> Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\depot\
    game_player.version --> Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\
    vo_en.version -->Zenimax Online \The Elder Scrolls Online\game\vo_en\

    Fix for German Version,

    not there yet.

    I'm not sure if this makes any difference to the powers that be. When the game was patched for the 4/4 release, that's when the launcher was telling me to "Install". When doing that, it then told me there wasn't enough space on my HD, which there wasn't because the whole thing was already on my relatively small HD. So the answer to the issue is that for some reason, the program was treating the patch as an entirely new install and not a patch. I also noticed that my current install at the time read "Elder Scrolls Online Beta". My guess is, that will be an isolated issue since we're now using the non-beta version.
