Game is not very stable since maintenance

I crashed 5 times last night, in 2.5 hour play window.

Crashed twice this morning in an hour. And now am in a 27 minute queue.

PC/NA. I normally crash 1-2 per week, so this is abnormal.

This morning: Booted twice in less than an hour of play. First time relog gave me a legit 16 sec queue. Second time, relog gave me a frozen 46 min queue. Not good.

PC NA no steam.

Edit: Tried again after about 15 min and got in okay. Been playing about 15 mins with no problem.

Edit again: Booted again now and can't get back in. *sad panda*

We know you're doing your best @ZOS_CouchTato but this is a widespread issue affecting MANY MANY players, which strongly indicates it is not on the client side. And with a 20 hour maintenance outage yesterday, its pretty obvious where the issue lies...

This happens almost every time ZOS/ESO has a "Backend Upgrades" maintenance. The cyber bullies like to flex their muscles to prove their superiority, and as a result ESO has to deal with a week or so of increased DDOS attacks.

I kinda saw this coming.

I don’t think zeni understands that this is an issue impacting hundreds of people. Huge numbers of people on NA are freezing and crashing at the same time, over and over. People from all over North America, some I know in Australia, and doing all types of game activities.

It’s so widespread that when everyone tries to get back in at the same time we are given a login queue with an estimated 5+ hour wait. It ends up only taking a few minutes, but the fact that it estimates hours tells us there’s a high volume of players trying to get in at once.

Last night and again this morning my guild chats are filled with people asking if everyone just crashed.

There is a much larger issue going on and telling us to troubleshoot it on our side is inappropriate.

FWIW my performance has been a lot better since maintenance. Anyone who has been following the lag threads knows just how bad my issues have been lately. I noticed a substaintial improvement in performance last night and I was in a ball group fighting 2 other ball groups.

So I looked at the troubleshooting suggestions posted above.

Addons - always the first suggestion from ZoS. My quick thought is, if they are the root of all evil why are you adding them to console? I tried no add-ons and crashed again.
Game Repair - OK, I will give you that one. Quick and easy, done.
GPU drivers. Kept updated via NVIDIA app. And should add that I am running a 4060Ti which is a bit better than the 970 recommended.
Compatibility mode for Windows 7? Really? Seems weird, but ok..
Run as Administrator - always
Firewall - checked and good
DPI Settings - checked the article and don't run the game on a surface...

Tried to submit a ticket, system is down. So no ticket number.

I have to emphasize that my game ran fine on Tuesday night. My core finished off Dynamo and moved onto our GS prog late Tuesday and ended about 15 minutes before maintenance. MY GAME RAN FINE. I logged onto the game soon after maintenance ended on Wed evening and started having problems. What changed? Nothing on my PC or home network changed in that time.

The random disconnects are not new. They’ve existed now for several months at least. Hard to say if this is new or not, but what is new is I was in infinite archive, everything froze and now after closing are restarting I’m in a 2 hour queue to get back into the game.

I don't think there is a coincidence between 20 hours of maintenance and the game crashing after 15 minutes of play time.

Edit: At least I got credit for the kill, even if no loot. Then I crashed again...

What did you do on that Maintenance? That long Maintenance seems to be the common denominator here.



EDIT: Aaaand after doing all the suggestions I can now play for up to 4 minutes at one time and then it crashes

I'm here because I'm having the same problem. Disconnected twice in an hour today. Something's not working as intended; this isn't exactly a peak playtime as far as I'm aware (except for players across the pond I suppose)
