Subject: My ESO Plus Subscription & The Endless Down Times...

Dear ZeniMax Online Studios,

I'm writing to you today as a frustrated, long-time player of Elder Scrolls Online. I've been playing since 2017, and while I haven't been a *continuous* ESO Plus subscriber, I've subscribed for the majority of those months, and I genuinely love Tamriel. However, the sheer volume of downtime I've experienced over the years has become increasingly infuriating.

Since I started playing, it feels like every major update, every patch, and every "hotfix" (which often feels anything but hot) comes with hours, and sometimes even entire *days*, of server downtime. I distinctly remember the sheer chaos following the Morrowind update in 2017, and it feels like the pattern has only intensified since then. We’ve had massive downtime with Elsweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, and now Necrom. Every chapter and many DLC's come with this issue.

It's not just the major expansions either. It's the incremental updates, the maintenance periods that consistently overrun their projected timelines, the unexpected server crashes... It all adds up. Even when I'm not actively subscribed to ESO Plus, I'm still impacted by this downtime, preventing me from playing the base game I own. And when I *am* paying for ESO Plus, it feels like I'm paying for a service that, far too often, I can't actually use.

It's particularly galling when the downtime extends significantly beyond the initial estimates. We're given a projected timeframe, we plan our gaming time around it (because, you know, we have lives outside of Tamriel), and then... *bam*. Another announcement: "We're extending maintenance for an additional X hours." It feels like a constant cycle of disappointment.

I understand that maintaining a massive online game like ESO is complex, and unforeseen issues can arise. But the frequency and duration of these downtimes are simply unacceptable. Whether I'm paying for ESO Plus in a given month or not, the constant interruptions make it difficult to enjoy the game. When I *do* choose to subscribe, I expect a higher level of service, which includes reasonable uptime.

I'm not asking for perfection, but I *am* asking for improvement. I'm asking for more transparency, more realistic time estimates, and a genuine effort to minimize downtime. All players, and especially those who frequently support the game financially through ESO Plus, deserve to be able to play consistently.

I love ESO, I really do. But my patience is wearing thin. Please, address this ongoing issue before more loyal players like myself are driven away by the sheer frustration of constantly staring at a "Servers are down for maintenance" screen.

Sincerely,

A Very Frustrated ESO Player.

You highlight many issues... most of which are intrinsic to a "service" (i.e. online) based game.

Same issues apply to all other services that are delivered via IT systems and over some form of remote connection.

As consumers we have a choice... engage (like you are), move to the competition (which I know many of my friends are doing), stay put (which I also know many are doing), or actively retaliate against the whole subscription/service direction the industry is going in (also, I know many people doing this),

There's no right answer... but I for one appreciate the more sensitive (less FOMO/entitled) tone your post brings to the conversation.
