This is gonna end at 3 am EET which means most of us Finnish players miss their login reward, endeavors etc. I might still be up since I have insomnia, but I do hope we at least get two login rewards tomorrow so people won't automatically miss the final reward of the month...

That's worth quite a few Crowns to some people (and extra revenue to ZOS if they don't gift them as rewards), but it's actually the principle of the thing. If ZOS prevent access to the game for a day they ought to make sure players aren't penalised for it. I'm never one demanding compensation for downtime and I'm not doing so now, just suggesting the rewards should be credited as if players had been able to log in.

It does feel like a very one-sided relationship that uses the mantra "treat em mean, keep em keen". Minimum comms, late. No explanation, no compensation, absolute disregard for the EU player base and the time of day that we play. Speaking as a previous community manager, and a paying customer, this is unnacceptable.

Nothing is broken. The team is working on some upgrades, and it is taking longer than anticipated. We updated the main maintenance thread as soon as we heard from the team working on the upgrade about what the new time window would be.

Last time some people asked for compensating, but other players, those who wanted to look good for ZOS, said that compensations were useless and that there was no need for them. End result: we got nothing, not even 1 gold. I assume it will be the same this time. In another game I play, for a few hours of maintenance they give out currency chests....

What do you mean we got nothing??? I forgot what the reward was on the first day in January (it was good, though)...but the second day... it was "FIVE" 150% XP scrolls! Those are VERY valuable - especially if you're working on leveling-up something specific, such as... "scrying"! Those first 2 days of rewards in January "were" the compensation for the problems in December. You might check into it before you say they never give us anything!!

Well frankly, it's not up to other players to demand the compensation and rewards that you think you're entitled to.

It's also not their fault if zos decides or does not decide to give compensation.

Furthermore, there was compensation issued for the server outage late last year.

I hope they'll consider offering some for this extended downtime too, but I'm not going to get worked up about it. And if we ultimately do or don't get compensation, it's not on me, or any other players who don't feel super strongly about it.

I don't really need compensation, what I would like is for the devs to have a contingency plan.

Is not the player's choice to have umpteen things time-gated in the game: endeavours, login rewards, daily writs, daily quests, daily cooldown timers on motifs/merits/proofs/whathaveyou, 20 hr cooldown scrolls, horse training... the list goes on and on and on.

They have leant heavily on the 'do it today or miss out'; is only reasonable to expect a contingency plan for such times when we 'miss out' through no fault of our own.

I am pretty sure we'll get something for this. And this extended downtime is of course not something ZOS wants to happen. We all understand this. It's boring nevertheless

For me.. I'd love to be able to play this afternoon but hey...

Servers are down, they have stuff that needs doing with them. End of story. I have other things I can do (and probably should be, for some of them).

This kind of thing has never gotten under my skin, been playing since the beginning.

And no, I don't feel entitled to anything, all good here. These types of things go with the territory, life goes on.

There are complaints when things aren't fixed / updated / maintained and there are complaints when they then do them.. can't have it all ways and no matter what time is picked someone won't be happy and will gripe.

People say the daily rewards aren't that great and aren't worth it most of the time - then get all bent out of shape when they think they might miss one of them for maintenance... and then want more free stuff for compensation for not getting the thing they felt wasn't worth getting. Seriously...
