During his recruitment quest, after performing the ritual in the Temple of the Hidden Moon in Rawlka he'll say:

"My moonclaw guides me. Though weak, I can feel its pull. Somewhere east of here."

For me it's just the whole coldharbour/Cadwell deal. That's a main base quest line unlike thieves or not collecting butterflies/mushrooms. While we have other companions to tag in on the final leg of that particular journey, it'd been nice not to have to sideline him at the finish line for the companions quest line.

Agreed; I'd like to take him along to the showdown. Even on the character writing level: We're not in Coldharbour because we like it, Zerith, we're there because we don't like it and don't want more of the same. Going there helps us!

One of the best things about him is how he reacts if you kill mud crabs!

Oh man, Zerith may be tied for my favorite companion, but this was a line of dialogue that should have been uttered once and never again.

I agree I'm sick to death of it.

It is. Actually - it’s the only line really that’s worth repeating.

That being said, not really that great where there’s just one great line and one worth repeating.

    Went back to sharp.

He dislikes Cadwell because he has heard of his actions from the time he was known as Cadwell the Betrayer in the Merethic era. The first line below hints this:
"I do not know this Cadwell, but stories of his name leave a foul taste on my tongue. Please, speak not to him again while I am present."
"This Cadwell puts on a cheerful front, but … I do not trust him, tamiit. You should not, either."

My issue with him is he is clearly designed to push you to play ToT and seems to give biggest points for it (according to guides.) No thanks. He doesn't like my playstyle as a vampire and selling stolen stuff. What else would I do with all that stuff?

    I'm sticking with Miri.
