There’s a bug whereby if a player is in the scribing menu and the notification for a queued BG, dungeon or other event appears (regardless of solo or group) then the selection the player had while in the scribing menu become active in the activity that the player was queued for.
Essentially this can allow a player to custom scribe abilities without using luminous ink.
So for example, let’s say I’m on a scribing alter and in the menu for Weld Soul, I’ve selected bleed damage, lingering torment, & breach as the 3 attributes but I have NOT confirmed the changes; I’m just sitting in the scribing menu with those items selected reading the info pane. .. if, while doing this, the notice for the queued activity pops up I will enter that activity with the Weld Soul scribed ability selections, even though I didn’t confirm them or use any luminous ink.
This can skew payers who might be looking at a scribed skill to get information or, worse, it can allow players to just make scribed selections and sit in the menu while the rest of the group queues for an event and the player gets a new scribe for free.
For me this is more a nuisance when I’m trying to look into an ability and the queue pops and my abilities are now broken for the duration of the event. I’ve talked to others who use this as a means to swap custom scribes between events for no cost; either way, it’s broken.
