Yeah, for all but the top players these MMR resets are a bad deal. I thought they happened at the beginning of each month. It seemed obvious that it reset half way through the Whitestrake event.
It’s my opinion that MMR should almost never reset period, and it should be account wide. How are new players supposed to get interested in battlegrounds when they get clubbed like baby seals any time during the month? Because that’s the defacto result of these resets. Which begs the question, who is this done for and why?
And unfortunately in the battleground Q & A, ZOS basically said they’re not changing this any time soon.
I’m a huge fan of ESO and pretty much all activities in it, basically I’m a fanboy. But I have to question developer choices like this.

Having a character being stuck at a specific mmr leads to obscene queue times (with how it currently works) and no one likes spending more time waiting to PvP than actually doing PvP. I do however think having mmr reset once/month is too frequently and I think once/patch would be appropriate enough.
Edit: Mmr should be visible and not be based on an accumulative score/games played. It should also be able to go down based on your performance and win/loss rate.
