Why the change? (Elven hero 10 year costume)

I’ve always liked the original elven hero costume and was looking forward to using the updated version but it’s only modeled after female body types now. My male doesn’t want to show an open chest.

Why was only one model (female) updated?
Seems limiting.

What I want to know is how to preview the damn thing. Neither clicking on it nor using "R" pops the preview....

That's odd, because both those options worked when I previewed it.

Maybe you need to reload ui?

Just my two cents, I always liked the female version better, and I'm happy to have it on my guys. The original male version made my character look like an overturned turtle. Something about that chest plate.

Well.... that makes two of us! I can't even right-click and select "Preview Reward" in the dialog box and get it to show.

I'm not happy either. I am very tired of no masculine morph for many costumes which appear lately. Always there is a bra, or a female top on these. If they want to allow a male to wear this, I don't mind that others want it and like it, it's fine with me that they wear this. But give masculine version too for people who do not want to wear it like this on a male body.

There is less and less options for masculine characters lately, so many crown gem costume have only a bra, or female/feminine centered top. please stop it and give an alternate version so we can choose. Why would it be hard to add a second version with different mesh on top?

I appreciate that there's differences between the new one and the old one, as someone who has the old one already. I don't think the new one looks bad on a guy. Some outfits very clearly are a female outfit on a man--which tends to look weird due to the shape language (for instance, in my opinion, round tops that try to accentuate the bust tends to look weird on men since their pecs are more square)--but I feel like the chest on this one nicely frames the pecs. I wouldn't mind more masculine outfits, but I think this one's fine as is to be honest.

Because I have dyed my original costume, I am having trouble seeing what's different about the new one. The only thing I notice is the butt wrap is different (angles instead of just going straight across.)

Oh. Maybe. Let me disable No Thank You (which is the one which always interferes with dyestamps....)

And yes, that was the culprit! Thank you @DenverRalphy - new character and I just absentmindedly activated all the addons, though I usually leave that one inactive!

I REALLY like this version about a 1000% better than the other one!

I personally thought the original costume looked silly on my male characters so I never wore it. This new one lets my male characters show off their chest, which is nice.

Would be cool to get more masculine looking costumes tho, like others mentioned here!

And I'm sure that most don't feel this way, but I hate all of these female costumes where low cut tops are the only option. My female characters are adventurers not fashion models.

Each of my characters are different, and I like how we have choices that range between fashion model and adventurer. They can never give us too many choices! 😊

yeah but why can't we show chest in a masculine way? I wish so many of these outfits with a bra had no shirt option for males for example. it would not be hard for them to stick in a second outfit which lacks a bra for the male body, and possibly add an alternate top for ladies to give more option for them too

I do not like the cut of this, I don't think it shows the chest in a nice way on my characters. How others feel about their characters is for them to decide not for me to judge.

I liked it and wear it a lot, would like an alternate version updated for guys. I think this new one does not look good on my own characters. How others feel about their own characters is not for me to judge.

Honestly, i wish that ZOS would modify the outfits to let US the PLAYERs choose if we want a more masculine outfit type displayed or a more Feminine stye regardless of the player choose at creation. it seems like a simple option choice in selection.

I agree, but it would require 4 rigs for every outfit/style: FemFemale, FemMale, MascFemale, MascMale. I assume by not keeping only the feminine style in this case they are trying to do that but with less work, you have the choice of FemMale and FemFemale but there are no Masc options because it is the cannon armor of a female character (and that's less work for ZOS)

I wish they would have fixed the costume the in game costume has the inner thigh area covered and in ALL official media that area is skin. such a nice costume but it such a glaring issue I just can't

I actually didn't look at the differences between the old one and new one, and I'm surprised they fixed almost everything. I was thinking you were nit picking but honestly that's such a weird thing to leave out.

I agree, and in my opinion it looks better with the skirt. They could add shorts underneath is they were worried about upskirt shots lol.

it's not about that. it's about offering a second option women could also wear. if a second costume was put in with different chest, then they could wear that as well, fair and square. don't know why either gender should be forced to do anything they don't feel comfortable with or why people think a man deserves to wear a outfit he uncomfortable with just because someone other than him decided the fashion of a female armor is skimpy. I didn't decide that, don't want it, and don't even look at it, so I don't accept the blame.

besides, there's plenty of women who enjoy this costume either to wear it or to see it so it's not only men who like those design choice, to deny that is to ignore a whole diverse section of this player base

As a woman, I think that the male version of boob armor would be skimpy male outfits (something like AlienSlof's mods for Oblivion), not men wearing bras. The latter just looks silly. I think that costumes like Redguard belly dancer outfits should just be topless when worn by male characters.
