November 2024 Terms of Service: "4. Beta Tests and Free Trials"

I just logged in for the first time in a while and had to agree to the newest Terms of Service. After Reading most of it I have a question concerning this section

"4. Beta Tests and Free Trials" specifically:

"ZeniMax may contact You to review and evaluate, or playtest, one or more Games, aspects of Games, or online features prior to commercial release for the purpose of identifying program errors and obtaining feedback."

This is plural so does this mean ZOS could ask you to beta test "Games" other than ESO?

If so how do you put your name in the hat for these and/or find out what they may be?

Reading that, I would say that it does refer to other games, and you're already in the hat.

You are not agreeing to do any testing, just to letting them ask.

Yeah I'd say it doesn't necessarily refer to anything that's currently happening regarding new games; that section is there more to provide them with legal protections, generally, if/when they may decide to invite players to beta test new features or games.

They are rumored to be working on another mmo, so perhaps that could be one thing they envision having a beta test for in the future.

Yeah, that wording will just be to cover them in all eventualities that might come up. Specifically someone trying to argue that whatever they were testing (or trialing) is technically a seperate game and therefore not covered by the same ToS agreement and they never agreed to one for that game.

Or it might be to enable Zenimax Online to use the same ToS for other games they release without having to re-write it.
