Why don't DK's get Major Resolve for having Spiked Armor (+ Morphs) slotted on either ability bar?

It just seems like it'd fit in line with many of the QoL buff upkeep changes.

No class has passive major resolve, they’re all active skills. Can’t make every class have passive major resolve either because of how warden’s major resolve skill works.
The buff upkeep changes also seem focused on offensive buffs as opposed to defensive ones, though even then its more about making bar-buffers that already were passive function on both bars.

Because it doesn't passively give Major Resolve?

Its an activated ability to provide Major Resolve like (Almost) every other class has:

    - Sorc has Lightning Form
    - Templar has Rune Focus
    - Warden has Frost Cloak
    - Necro has Bone Armor
    - Arcanist has Fatewoven Armor

With of course, DK having Spiked Armor.

The only outlier to this is NB, which instead gets its Major Resolve from their Shadow Barrier passive which procs from using any Shadow skill (While having Blur that gives them Major Evasion instead)

Beyond that, you can ask the same question about "Why is it not a passive 'While on either bar' ability" to literally every buff in the game. To which the answer is seemingly combat being designed around micromanaging buff/debuff uptimes.

To be honest, the most egregious buffs are the ones that don't do anything else besides apply a buff. Like Molten Weapons, Restoring Aura (Repentence morph at least becomes a better design), Lotus Flower (Even more so when you consider NB's Siphoning Strikes...) etc.

At least skills that do things like the Spiked Armor morphs, Drain Power, Sun Fire etc do something you might actually use the skill for besides just applying the buff thus it can fit into your rotation more readily.

Probably. I'm likely biased since I've been using Oakensoul for a while and it's been refreshing to need to focus on active abilities over maintaining passive abilities.

Totally noticing the power-gap without those buffs though when making a new character.

Huh, speaking of, Do you know if Molten Whip's stacks persist through barswaps/stacks while on another bar like merciless?

I think so, yes. Don’t quote me though, I don’t DK.

You are correct. Tried it out.

Kind of a... Meh ability? In PvP anyway. Consumes all stacks for a rather small amount of damage all things considered.

Seems like it'd best used for the passive WD/SD bonus for PvE DoTs/another main spammable and never actually used.

This is how most people tend to use it in PvE. If you want to be really sweaty you can use whip at full stacks and then lean on another spammable when it isn't, but like most things that fall within the margin of error, I tend to just forgo that unless I'm trying to hit a metric on a dummy.
