Why is my chakram shield reduced in battlegrounds?

Like the title says. Why is it when I go into battlegrounds the amount of damage my chakram shield blocks is reduced to just over 4100. But when I'm not in a battleground my shield is 10,000?
It seems like too big a difference for CP to be the main cause, even with bastion and Arcane supremacy

    Battle Spirit:
    Damage taken and Shield strength are decreased by 50%
    Healing Received is decreased by 55%
    Health Recovery is decreased by 50%

    im not sure of the exact maths, and would need to know more of your overall build

    but at a high lvl the bastion cp provides a +15% bonus to dmg shields

    major and minor mending can give a combined +18% bonus to dmg shields

    i dont know exactly how much the shield value would be affected by losing the -1300 max mag from the cp, but its probably less than the 15% from the bastion cp (but the amount scaled by this would be buffed by the mending and cp buffs)

    in a cp environment, bastion is almost equivalent to having major and minor mending at all times which is pretty significant itself, as the other 2 are usually temporary buffs you might not have all the time

    Can anybody tell me what a Sorcs hardened ward is in battlegrounds?

    The tooltips when it comes to wards and healing are very confusing due to battle spirit (this is something ZOS really needs to address) and this catches a lot of people out who are unaware of this.

    What it comes down to is that shields have their tooltips adjusted to show Battle Spirits reductions, where the tooltips of heals typically aren't shown (the actual healing done is still halved).

    As an example, my shield in PvE tooltips for ~15k (only 33k max mag because I was using PvE setup when checking this), while in PvP, the same build only shows 7.6k shield size tooltip, meanwhile the heal on hardened ward tooltips for 3.4k in PvE and tooltips for 4k in PvP (due to the 20% increase for being near a keep), the actual (non-crit) healing done by ward in PvP zone is only ~1800 though.

    TL//DR:
    Tooltips are confusing and really need updating/overhauling to reflect battle spirits effect on healing done like the tooltips currently do for shields to help lessen the confusion this causes, especially with Sorc, scribing shields and Arc, being very common in the PvP meta now.

    tooltips are not incorrect, because the reduction happens not on the attacker or healer but the on the receiver's side. If you hit monsters in IC you can still see the full damage.

    And it causes reflection skills being rather useless in BG, e.g. Spell Wall reflects an incoming attack of 8K, which is reduced to 4K on receiver, and once reflected back it's reduced again to 2K on the attacker - that's 1/4 of original power, not counting resistance.
