Will update this post as it unfolds...

Q1 Roadmap: Exactly what's in the January 2025 Roadmap graphic in the pinned area of this forum. They just went over the dates.

U45 - Coming to PTS on Monday. Launching PC March 10 and console March 25.

Brian Wheeler talking about Cyrodiil update:

The Cyrodiil update will be available the second week of PTS.

There will be a new campaign called Vengeance - will be testing performance here. Goal is to get as many people into Cyrodiil as possible, way above the pop caps now. Want to tackle the issues head on. Will only have one campaign up and running when the testing is active. Want to test on PTS to make sure the testing is working before they do the same test on live.

Skills will be different - way toned back. Abilities are modified to be simpler and less taxing for the server. For example, a skill might do damage. It won't do damage, crowd control, etc.

There will only be 3 skills lines. No guild, no passives, etc.

Test will run for only one week at the end of March for live.

Gear will be templatized. You get it when you enter Cyrodiil, and you lose it when you leave. This is only a test, and all in favour of performance.

ZOS will want feedback on the test.

So for U45, will be focused on this one week test with modified skills and templatized gear. More information coming when the actual test gets closer.

PTS will be a test run of the test.

After test, Cyrodiil will revert to what it is now while feedback is gathered.

Yeah, no overpowered characters. I like this idea because it`s a battle.

There will be XP and AP bonuses as the test runs.

Other things will also change during the test (infinite potions, changes to other things) - emphasize that this is only a test and everything will go back to what it is after.

I do wonder how they will tackle Ball Groups though. Hopefully, maybe once they realize that despite leaving only a handful of skills with no sets & passives & game will lag only when BG will show up (cuz it will), then maybe they will do something when their data will show that clear as day.

The big "plus" is that it seems that you wont be able to use proc sets, so even just for that it will be worth playing XD.

Goal of the test is to get the best performance possible so the pop caps can go way up. Trying new stuff to make this happen. Need the information from the test, need it from mass battles. Will get that from live, but will test the test on PTS.

Converting disguises to collectibles will be for fun for people.

I wonder how improved base mount speed will work with the green passive.
    • Meticiulous Disassembly: Improves the chances of extracting Woodworking, Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Jewelry Crafting ingredients and allows the refining of more powerful resins, tempers, tannins, and platings from raw materials.
    • Plentiful Harvest:
    • Treasure Hunter: Increases the quality of items you find in treasure chests.
    • Rationer: Adds 10 minutes to the duration of any eaten food or drink per stage.
    • Liquid Efficiency: Whenever you use a potion or poison you have a 10% chance to not consume it.
    • Homemaker: You have a 10% chance to find a second furnishing plan whenever you find a furnishing plan in the world.
    • Professional Upkeep: Reduces the cost of repairing your armor by 1% per stage.
    • Cutpurse's Art: Increases the chance to get higher-quality loot when pickpocketing.
    • Infamous(?): Increases the value of fenced items by 25%.

    are going to be passives!!

I did not get the ninth tho. Might've been Infamous?

    That's it for Cyrodiil.

Next: Base game features coming in U45.
    • Disguises will be converted to collectibles - not all, but list will be in PTS patch notes.
    • Improved base mount speed - mounts will start off noticeably faster. Will be the same or slightly faster at the top end.
    • Improvements to green champion points - the following will be passives: Meticulous assembly, - sorry, too many to type, but there will be nine and will be in PTS notes. So no need to slot champion points for those in the list
    • Tamriel map improvements - adding custom waypoint icon colour selector - can change colour of waypoints. Will be prioritizing wayshrines on the zoomed out map - will show the wayshrine closest to the start of a main quest in a new zone - an improvement for new players. It won't show dungeons etc. that clutter up the Tamriel-level map.

    Also:
    • Visual improvements to starter zones - lower to higher res, improved blending, adding more organic clutter and more signs of life, updating lighting, signs, banners, turning atmospheric effects on, using new water that newer zones use. (looks good!)
    • Add-on flow management for console add-ons - console add-ons are coming in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!

The big "plus" is that it seems that you wont be able to use proc sets, so even just for that it will be worth playing XD.

This all depends on the skill choices they go with. If the skills still allow 24x hots (12x echoing vigors and 12x regens), then BGs remain on a completely different level outside of the fact that they have 12 players all in a group and in comms.

Console add-ons sound good. They did mention "API limits", so I really hope this doesn't negatively affect the PC add-on experience.

There will be other little things that will be in the patch notes, coming on Monday.

That's it for U45 base game improvements.

    Next, houses:

Castle Skingrad - in Skingrad - looks like a castle! There are guards inside the house. This is modeled after what was in Oblivion. Floor plan is very similar.

    Has a huge courtyard.

Other house is called Shattered Mirror Isle. Located in Fargrave. It's a piece of Ithelia's realm, so it has mirrormoor flourishings.

Looks like caverns, also there's a mirror that will teleport you to a different part of the house.

    Large outdoor areas.

Both houses will be on PTS and available sometime after the U45 launch.

Makes me wonder where the Count lives now? Probably moved into a cave with his pet bear?

I believe the limitation was mainly that it is only on current gen consoles (so PS5, Xbox Series X) and not on the decade old consoles, which makes total sense.

    Dungeons:

Stories will be a standalone experience that touch on the 10th anniversary of ESO. Related to the 3-banners war and what it means to the rest of Tamriel.

First one: Exiled Redoubt - tells the story of an Imperial family and how they wanted to end the war. Won't spoil the rest...

    Located in West Weald.

Dungeon is underground - cave, mine, that sort of thing. Also castle elements.

They also mentioned that console-addons will only be available on the new generation consoles, not the older ones.

Also, there's no timeline for console addons, the PTS will simply implement the means by which addon authors can start to prepare their addons for console.

In the dungeon, eventually you end up in a keep. One boss area has spiked floors - can guess what will happen here.

(wish I had Finn's god mode!)

(he's just running through the first dungeon right now, without showing mechanics, but there are a lot of new mechanics, apparently.)

There might be secret bosses - maybe. ;)

    Okay, second dungeon:

Called Lep Seclusa - a former battlefield emperor became disillusioned with the war and deserted. Gathered an army of deserters from all factions. Found location of an elder scroll, and they're now going to assault where the scroll is and you have to stop them.

Located in Abah's Landing - you take a boat to get to it.

Lots of sand. Hew's Bane look.

    More traditional setup - 3 bosses, 3 mini-bosses.

Base game improvements sound really appealing! Can’t wait to have those green tree passives and outfits. Base horse speed upgrade also sounds great, even though I will be fully upgraded by then.

House is cool but not for me. They’re usually expensive timed deals and are way too big to fully furnish.

Dungeons has siege weapons that can hit you that are "no joke". Don't stand in stupid.

Also has an AD section in terms of appearance.

One boss has a lot of bird adds. One very big griffin lol.

Now EP appearance. (want to showcase all three factions in dungeon)

This dungeon is much bigger than the other one (which is quite short if you don't explore).

Lots of fire in this dungeon!

There are new sets but went through very quickly, so check patch notes.

Get memento for completing each dungeon, a skin for completing both on veteran.
