Been playing every day since EA started. I wasn't on the beta client.

No mine is fine (thanks god), I reopened it few times and it hasn't screwed up. Before hitting Install check your install directory and make a backup

It isn't a 22GB download, I think it is just verifying files and should take a couple minutes only.

I can confirm that it does not take a couple minutes and it is "updating" with a 22gb download. Started as soon as the OP posted and i'm only at 10 percent.

Part of the problem was having the auto update set. I canceled that and am now repairing. Fingers crossed!
