Regarding the recent promo for the Elk Mount

Is there any chance there might be a secondary promo in the future for it? Those of us who bought ESO directly from the store (aka not from Epic or Steam) were locked out, as were PS players I think? Then there's the number of people who qualified but couldn't get the apparently really badly coded promo to ding, and THEN there's the people who DID manage to get it up and running...but apparently somehow digital goods were limited and there was no way to track how many codes were left, so there are people who went through all those hoops for nothing? I'm not actually sure how many people that latter part applies to, since I know Kevin's been hard at work getting people their codes.

For everyone else who either couldn't participate or could/did but were unable to get the Mount, though, I really hope there's going to be some option in the future to obtain it. I have a character it would fit perfectly and I just really like the look of it, and would like the chance to get it eventually. I do recall someone in one of the threads on the matter saying the Mount has been available before, but I feel like it must have been quite some time ago since I don't remember having seen a promo for it before. I'd hope, given how many people had issues with this particular promo (and how many just couldn't take part period) that we'd get another promo before TOO long passes.

Please also include the XBox platform too in any secondary promotion for this mount as it too wasn't part of this promotion, that was only for PC Steam/Epic.

I don't really understand ZoS spending time to make a promotional asset in game and then excluding ~5/6th of the ESO player base from even being eligible to participate.

If you got the nvidia card just open a ticket to ESO support or Nvidia directly.
I opened a ticket with nvidia and got the code in like 2 days.(I play on ZOS launcher and not on steam/epic so it has detection issues)

I struggled to get this thing and I run an Nvidia card, so already had the previous app for updating drivers. Their newfangled app does not recognize my oldfangled ESO. On official advice, I opened a ticket, and someone just popped the elk onto my account while I was asleep. This was after the news that codes had 'run out'. So much for that manufactured scarcity.

Really appreciated the swift action! Thanks! Just would have vastly preferred to get the thing through gameplay. Would like to see it more accessible in future, since I reckon most players didn't even know they could contact support if the promotion wasn't working for them.

This will not work. I tried. Here is the response I got, which was totally not helpful as I purchased the game directly from ZOS.

Xbox is one of the login options provided for this promotion.

The problem is, you apparently need an NVIDIA card to even run the app, so those of us with rigs that don't have one are kinda SOL.

Is there ANY way to get around not having an NVIDIA card? If not, my question still stands; will there be a promo in the future for those of us completely locked out of the current one?

If you don't have GeForce card then you can get the promo mount by playing GeForce now. They have a free tier.. you would just need to have ESO on steam or epic and link your GeForce now. Its an Nvidia promotion fyi. The mount looks like the Nvidia logo

While I appreciate the attempt to help...like I said in the OP, I and many others bought ESO directly from the ZOS store, NOT from Epic or Steam. Which means this promo doesn't apply to us.

If we didn't buy ESO through Epic or Steam, we can't do the GeForce NOW portion of the promo.

If we ALSO don't have an NVIDIA card, we can't do the promo via the NVIDIA app.

A bunch of us are just completely locked out of the promo with no way of getting around the limitations, it seems like. I know some promos require active subs to like Amazon Prime, and people could claim someone without a Prime membership would be locked out of those sorts of things. But even in that case, people have the choice to sign up for Prime if they don't have an account, and I think they always offer a free 30 day trial for new members. Even if you don't like Amazon's practices and stuff, and wouldn't keep the account, you can still do the 30 day free trial, claim whatever is through Prime, and then just cancel the free trial. In this particular case, though, those of us without an NVIDIA card and who bought the game directly from ZOS have 0 choice in the matter. We simply can't get it, unless there's some way we can get around those two limitations that haven't surfaced yet.

I bought my game from the ESO store and was able to get the mount. I saw all the trouble others were having so decided not to even try because it is unlikely any of my characters would use that mount. Then I on a whim Wednesday checked and I had the code sitting there waiting on me.
I must have checked the box to link whatever we were suppose to link a long time ago because I don't remember doing it.

I know if you bought ESO from the ZOS store, you're now able to get the Mount by playing through the NVIDIA app. Apparently at first it was only working for those who'd gotten it through Steam or Epic, but then Kevin informed us all that NVIDIA had updated their app or something and it was now picking up on ZOS store versions of ESO. In your case, I'm assuming your rig has an NVIDIA card? Because I know someone else had mentioned that for the app part of the promo, they'd needed to select opting in to promos and rewards before they got their code. So maybe you'd already done that and somehow just playing the game itself rather than via the app dinged it for you?

The problem is, without an NIVIDIA card, you can't install the app, like my screenshot shows. If you can't run the app, you could do the GeForce NOW part of the promo...if you have ESO through Steam or Epic.

I don't have an NVIDIA card so I can't get the Mount via the app. I bought ESO through the ZOS store so I can't do the GeForce now portion, which requires Steam or Epic versions.

EDIT: I'm gonna try to do the GeForce now thing even though my game isn't through Steam or Epic, just to cover all my bases and make sure I've tried everything I can. Maybe it'll work, but I'm not holding my breath. This promo's coding seems screwed to heck and back so maybe it'll work for me lol.

EDIT2: No I'm not, because apparently somehow the free version of GeForce NOW is 'sold out', which is...honestly really friggin lame and seems like a cash grab to force people into paying for a full membership. What subscription service has its free/lower cost versions able to run out like that?

Yep. They fixed the issue, but even before they fixed an issue I posted a workaround for people who bought the game from the website that worked for me to get the mount.

I do remember seeing someone posting something about that, was it something about moving the ESO folder or something? I can't remember which thread it was posted in or I'd go look at it again.

Nvidia app is recognizing ESO. No need to remove files from folder to put them back again once the game is detected by nvidia app.
Be aware that you need to meet requirements in order to collect the rewards.

"What are the system requirements needed to participate in rewards?
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or 11 operating system
- You must be on a GTX 10 Series or above "

I played ESO by way of the nVidia app for several hours this week. Last major play time was yesterday, so within the 4 - 11 January timeframe. At no point did I get a code to redeem. I find that quite despicable. This promo is/was clearly not working as intended (at least, I hope not). I'm not sure if I have sufficient energy to go the CS route. More often than not, that amounts to nothing.

The nVidia app is the new control center for GeForce graphics settings. Doesn't really make any sense to try to install it without having a GeForce card.

I agree with you that the mount should be made available by other means (another promo).

I would very much prefer to see ZoS avoid promotions that involve third parties. I bought my game from ZoS and am not interested in dealing with Twitch, Nvidia, Steam or any other third parties as regards to ESO.

Yeah, this promo’s weird semi-exclusivity was a mess. The last thing I want is another elk mount. However, PSN players are again disregarded in favor of other platforms.
