I inherited one of these. I already use a Logi mouse with side buttons mapped to skill keys, so thought it would be easy to use the deck. I mapped some key combinations using Tralce's add-on, e.g. to summons Companions, and then mapped the same key combinations on the deck. The combinations worked, but not on the deck. I backtracked to a simple space bar press on the deck, which indeed leaves a space when typing, but does not make the character jump in ESO. Clearly, I am missing something ... or expecting too much?
