How viable these two builds?

Hello. I was looking for some Stamina Sorc builds and found these two:

Are they worth trying?

Viable? depends on what you want to do. For casual PvE content they are both viable.

The first one is very outdated and would fit a more casual setting better than say HM trials. Not useless, just old.

The second one seems to be way better if you intend to do harder group content. Still outdated but held up a bit better to modern standards.

You should also know that some builds are not viable for evert fight. Kilt is amazing for parse fights but will be next to useless in fighta where you take alot of direct damage. Similar case with relequen being amazing for ST fights but nigh unusable for AoE.

If you want to do PvE DPS i’d advice checking out skinnycheeks, he’s the go-to for DPS info.

Alcast has basically checked out from ESO at this point, so I would avoid his builds. Ninja pulls is more current, and some of those builds are fun and effective. Skinnycheeks is great, and I hope he continues putting out content.

I would recommend you compare builds for other classes across the site you are on. On some you will find that every stamina or magicka class will have the same exact build or almost the same build, but for swapping a mythic. While hybridization has homogenized a lot of builds, there really is no reason a mag DK would have the same build as a magplar as a magden as a magblade.

I would also not put a ton of stock in the "140K DPS GODMODE" build nonsense some of these sites use as advertisement. First, the people creating and playing these builds are essentially professional ESO players who are far more in tune with little tweaks and changes that will have a bigger impact on their play than the average veteran player. Second, these are almost universally parse builds, meaning that they are primarily built to put up massive numbers... in a player's house. While some may translate to high DPS in a real gameplay setting, most will not. Be sure to check out if the site differentiates between the two, especially if they are only posting videos of their parse without a written build guide. Not saying they are bad people or lying to you, but you should not assume that using that build will give you 140K DPS instantly.

Most builds from these sites will give the time they were made, for instance "U39" with that stam sorc build. Just because it is not "U44" does not mean it is not current. Some classes and builds do not need to be updated with every update, and sometimes the "current" meta might not work for you as well as a prior build. I still run Ansuul's + Deadly on my stamina Arc and it cranks out a ton of damage without having to worry about the boss moving around as I do with Whorl or play the stamina game with Coral Riptide. But I'm here to run vet hardmodes with guildies and pug random veteran stuff, not score pushing. I don't find it fun to do a wardrobe change between content.

Checked this site, it contains no actual builds, but only info about how to create builds. It also a bit outdated (U40). Summing it up results in about the same build as on ninja-pulls.
I guess I will go with this one. But maybe there's better mythic than kilt? Velothi Ur-Mage looks good, but does it's damage bonus work for bosses, or just trash mobs? Or maybe Mora's Whispers? Any ideas?

I agree 100 percent with all of this. Add in the Godmode claims, they are also when grouped as many of your stats will increase so parsing on your own will not reach those numbers.

The Velothi is great for classes with channeled attacks because it amps up your crit damage without having to keep stacks up like the Kilt. The Arc's beam is perfect because it ticks every 0.3 seconds, so every 0.3 seconds it is going to be upping your crit damage. Templar is another as Sweeps/Jabs put out damage every 0.5 seconds and of course Radiant Oppression. Both of those classes can avoid the traditional LA rotation because you can shorten your rotation to "drop DOTs, drop AOEs" then blast away with the Flail/Beam (Arc) or weave Sweeps until execute (Templar).

The major drawback is it reduces damage from you light attacks to almost nothing. You still LA on those classes to proc sets (i.e Whorl) and/or keep the ultimate generation up, but it is no longer a source of damage. Compared to a Magblade build, I would rather run the Kilt because I am going to do a traditional LA weave in conjunction with Merciless Resolve and whatever my primary spam skill is. DK would be the same. In fact, I would go so far to say that any build you run Relequen on, Velothi would gimp it, unless you are doing content where you just can't keep the Kilt's stacks up.

Mora's is a great mythic. The obvious drawbacks are the amount of books you have to read to make it effective and it can put you over the crit cap. I don't see the crit cap as a huge drawback as all three of these mythics add crit damage, but the books thing is annoying.

Lastly, skinnycheeks gives you ideas on how to build and tips for CP and gear in different situations. Its not your typical "slap ABC on and do this rotation," like others. Its more adaptable to updates and tells you why. I think Ninja Pulls cribs a lot of his builds from skinnycheeks, but just lays it out in the more traditional "this is the meta" format. In the end, the meta is only as good as your play style. Don't be a slave to it.
