Does the XP boost not show on the character screen under active effects anymore or is it not working correctly?

It should be automatic once you log in provided the event has started, they have been getting rid of needing to use memento's/tools, to activate the XP buffs.

I don’t feel like it’s active either. Requested an icon somewhere a few events ago and they have yet to implement that.

I also am a bit unsure it's really working right. I was in a huge hurry this morning, so didn't check thoroughly. I'll do that little thing tomorrow....

It's in effect. I'm leveling up a toon, and the xp is most defiinitely more than usual.

As well, all you have to do is look at the XP granted by the Random Normal Dungeon and see it's double what it normally is.

The XP boost is active. Once the event is live, the boost is in effect. We also note this in the article for the event as well.

The team has feedback to add an indicator in the future.

Like the recent Witch’s Festival and Anniversary events, the XP boost is passive now. There’s no need to activate anything or do anything. It’s there.

To be honest, people have wanted the event buff icon since the change to auto buff. You keep promising sometime in the future, I think we've gone through all the events, so that time might be next year already? I don't think one icon would be a big problem for a developers. So please, please, please give it to us for Christmas

It is active, as I checked this morning. I *think* I might have looked at a girl without an XP scroll on yesterday, my bad.

Thanks for confirming it’s active. It felt like general character level progression was slower, but skill line progression felt accelerated. I was just curious if maybe there was an issue or something.

As for the feedback, this is a good example of where a little more specificity would be appreciated.

So, they’ve had the feedback for about a year now, right? Is it something they are or will be actively working on, or is this just a “feedback has been received” kinda thing? Again, just curious, not trying to be confrontational, just seems like a vague answer, that’s all.

You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it, so now you want cheap thrills and, like, plenty of them....

Totally get that. My understanding from what the dev team has told me is in order to implement notification to track the XP boost, a new tool needs to be built and tested to work with the events. So it isn't something quick like adding an icon, as much as we would like it to be. In the meantime, that is why we note it in every article. We know that isn't the the best solution and it isn't the final solution. That being said, we can check in on this with the team in the new year again.

Is it because it's not actually a buff, but instead the base xp gain of the entire game that is doubled or something along those lines?

Edit: like a server rate change, something like what you'd get in a survival game.

It would be much simpler to just add an "XP Multiplier" ui element that sits right next to the Level/XP bar, and it'd be there all the time regardless whether an event is running or not. So just right of the XP bar at the bottom right of the screen, there'd be an X and a numerical value determined by the sum of all XP bonus sources.

So for example, on a normal day with no active scrolls/ambrosia for an ESO+ Subscriber it'd look like..

    rqsuep0k5gsd.jpg

    With a 150% scroll/ambrosia and ESO+ active on a regular day it'd read "x 2.6"
    With a 150% scroll/ambrosia and ESO+ active during a double xp event it'd read "x 3.6"

And it shouldn't be difficult to do as it's just a UI element representing something that's already present in the game (after all, the multiplier is already calculated).

They've had this note ever since the first event where we didn't need to do <the thing> to *get* the buff. It seems like it would be a pretty trivial change. Sigh.

That is what I thought when we asked 343i to add XP to the end of matches in Halo - since we already got XP for stuff but not the match itself.

Nope, their engine was so... rough... it took like... 4 months to get match XP added.
Will the real LadyGP please stand up.

Don't worry folks, once you reach 20/20 level 50 characters with 3600 CP and level 20 companions....

You won't need to know if exp boost is on or not.

You’d be surprised! I normally level in dungeon finder and get roughly a level per dungeon. It didn’t seem any different, so I was curious if it wasn’t fully functional or something. Proven wrong, thankfully.
