Sometimes bash doesn't do anything

I'm not sure how to describe the issue other than my title. This has happened a few times (lately?) enough so that my awareness of it has spiked. It seems rare, but sometimes an enemy will be channeling, and no amount of bashing seems to do anything. In this instance, I was trying to keep the scamp from despawning, and no matter how many times I bashed (and I was just spamming bash so much I depleted my stamina when i decided to grab this shot) nothing happens, shortly after this, he did indeed disappear. I submitted a bug report in game, but couldn't attach this screenshot since it happened before the end of the fight, so I'm posting it here. Forgive the coloring on the screenshot, it doesn't seem to account for HDR.

Not all boss attacks can be interrupted, look for the red sparks to know when they can be.

In this case, what's happening is you're probably bashing the clannfear because its tab targeted. That said, I have issues bashing sometimes too, particularly in AS sometimes melee bash just doesn't work until the 3rd time or so.

if you zoom in you'll see the scamp has red sparks

I'll keep an eye on it to see what proximity to my tab target does, if that solves my issue. I had already bashed 4 or 5 times with no result before taking this screenshot, so I had given up on it altogether at this point!
