how would you make this set a relevant group buff set?

dont think anyone in pve or pvp uses it. sanctuary, hircine or worm are more or less useful in a grp (and work similar) maybe add unique damage reduction or damage reduction against siege for yourself+grp. any more ideas?

    its 10% less dmg from projectiles, which implies ranged dmg, though not necessarily all ranged dmg is projectile based (blastbones is technically a ranged attack but does not use a "projectile" as one example, another case would be degeneration from mages guild, this has a projectile but the projectile itself does no dmg, as it applies a dot)

    the problem is that mitigation has diminishing returns, so you could say have major protection (10% dmg reduction against all dmg) and this, but you wont be taking 20% less dmg from projectiles due to the diminishing returns, it would only be something about 16% or so less dmg against projectiles

    changing it to something else might might make it too OP though

    if it was changed to 10% against all ranged dmg, that would probably make people too tanky, it might potentially be less OP to be protection against melee dmg, but that might also have the unintended effect of making ball groups more tanky anyway due to being less susceptible to bombers, especially if it stacks with other mitigations. these might be more feasible if the bonus was reduced to say 3-5%.

    changing it to major protection while it wouldnt stack, would also be pretty OP to give everyone that much flat mitigation to everything

    no point changing it to minor protection either, because you already can get that from scribing pretty easily

    right now it does kind of provide a strong bonus against some of the stronger ranged attacks, such as merciless or overload both of which use projectiles and 10% dmg reduction on those plus other mitigations make it easier to absorb the hits

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    A few years back I played in a small coordinated group of 4-6. We experimented with this set because a good majority of the damage we received was ranged because of our playstyle (kiting larger groups/zergs to a choke for bombs). We ultimately dropped it because the radius felt too small and 10% didn't feel like enough to justify using it over other stronger group sets.

    Maybe an all around buff would be nice. increase the damage mitigation, change from projectiles to all ranged attacks, buff the radius. Maybe even use a flat number instead of a percentage to avoid diminishing returns. It needs a lot to be able to compete with more powerful group sets. Also I like how zos tool tips give out as little info as they can get away with, like not mentioning the radius.

    The set is 100% used in PvP, mainly by some ballgroups. Was a bug where it would reduce the damage from azureblight (back when it was used in PvP before the unnecessary nerf it got) since the game somehow considered the azureblight damage a projectile.

    I doubt it's still being used if that's the case.

    most ball groups got lots of warden dds anyway so northern storm major protection is up a lot. I think most groups also slot the support line skill for major protection on main bars - putting major protection on the set instead of projectile damage wouldnt make it too OP but makee it worth considering to free up some skill slots (still gotta stack tight enough to get the buff as the aoe is stil not that huge). I doubt that they ll change how projectiles / skills / Siege work ...
    also liked to see them giving siege damage reduction to coordinated groups on that set but doubt that will happen ... with plague break they completly removed purge from pvp to counterplay siege weapons - guess this meta will not change anytime soon
