What exactly is the problem you think needs to be fixed? The performance already took a huge leap forward some time ago in my experience. 2014 Cyrodiil however was a much different experience considering the lack of all the skills/buffs/sets we have today.
I did notice they mentioned creating a specifically unique set of PvP skills just for Cyrodiil though, in order to bring a modicum of fairness to everyone. THAT is interesting, as it will being ESO in line with other kinds of competitive multiplayers.

the expectation that we can support more players per campaign

How about we start real simple. Like when I hit my break free button, my character actually breaks free. Or when I hit an attack skill it goes off at that moment the button is released. We can go really really simple and say, how about when I am not in combat for 6 seconds the game allows me to mount?
Lol

Wait. Performance took a huge leap forward? Uh, you must be one of the very few lucky ones who aren't having performance related issues. The forums for 2024 have been littered with performance related threads almost every week.

Everyone complaining about Cyro performance and saying it's not gotten better or is worse than back then doesn't actually remember how it was back then. Not only is performance much better there's been tons of little QoL changes that have been done over the years specifically to make your Cyro performance a tiny bit better.
People forget the days of disconnects every 5 minutes, just being near the battle and not actually close enough to jump in. disconnecting as you're already reloading, "unusually long load times" that weren't unusual at all. Chinese code exploits that have been pretty much fixed, frame rate in large battles is also better, for the most part I can actually see what's happening now.
I can't actually remember the last Unusually long load screen I've seen. I do remember it used to be 100 times a day tho

PC Beta player here. Played since the beginning. I strongly disagree with you. PVP back then was waaaaay better. My full raid vs 2 other full raids in Cyro with pugs galore everywhere and almost no issues. So maybe you mean console not having issues? Idk what you’re talking about. But on pc it was lit the first 2 years.

Along the way they dropped the ball. There is a massive player base out there that only wants to pvp. Don’t believe me? Look at WoW PVP servers. There are players out there who PAY a monthly subscription to PVP all the time when they game. But the difference is those WoW PvP servers actually work. Lag barely creeps into play during fights. Sometimes yes lag shows its ugly face, but rarely. When was the last time you knew guildies who started a toon in ESO, then took it into Cyro at level and leveled that character to max only in Cyro? I got news for you, that use to be the norm for a lot of people in the begining bc PvP Cyro was so incredibly fun.
I think it’s great ZOS is saying they will improve PvP. Imma still “believe it when I se it.” But I am very hopeful.

Read zone chat in PvP and people always joke they would legit pay for ESO+ PvP if it fixed server performance.
