There's been many posts about audio issues with banners, but I think the visual spam is just as bad. Perhaps not so in a highly structured group, but in GF pugs, it's total visual chaos sometimes.
ESO was originally designed with a minimal UI because the goal was for us to be able to see and hear abilities/cues affecting our characters. Not only is that no longer practical, but often times I can't see the red bad ae ground effects because of banners. I'm able to manage because of experience, but what about new and less experienced players trying to learn trials for the first time? Banners aren't making it easier for them to learn vdsr twins.
IMO, there's simply no need for banners to be so visually dominant. I don't think a giant circle is even necessary. The visual effect could be entirely on the flag. The radius is so large, that players shouldn't have problems staying within it without the visual component.
